Arrival Reminders
The first bell rings at 8:00. At that time, classroom doors open. It is imperative that students be in class and ready to learn by 8:15. Students who are not in the classroom by 8:15 are considered tardy.
Our car loop is very busy in the mornings with students arriving to school. To make the car loop more efficient, we are asking that students are dropped off at the next gate available and not just by their grade level hallways. This will allow cars to pull up to the next gate instead of having gaps in car line. The tardy bell rings at 8:15 and students are expected to be in their classrooms when the bell rings. Please help your student by making sure that they arrive on campus with time to get to class or to acquire breakfast if needed. We appreciate your help.

Covid-19 Updates
Quarantines
Students will continue to be quarantined this year if they show symptoms of Covid-19. Our staff works directly with the DOH in order to determine who needs to quarantine. There are a few updates to how students can return to school. Please read this list in it's entirety.
- Students who are a close contact to someone at school who has Covid, will no longer be required to quarantine. It will be the parents decision to quarantine or not. We will continue to notify you if your child is a close contact on campus. Please refer to the updated flowchart that is hyperlinked below.
- Please refer to the flowcharts to see the steps that need to be taken should your student become ill at school or at home.
- Link to the emergency order.
- Updated Flowchart

- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

What do I do if my child is sick?
Please keep your child home if they are not feeling well. This will help us minimize the transmission of COVID and other illnesses on campus. Please keep in mind as well that if a child has a fever, they must be fever-free, without medication for 24 hours before returning. They cannot take medication and come back to school if they have a fever. There will not be any awards for perfect attendance. We would prefer to catch your child up when they are feeling their best.
Please note, these are not Surfside guidelines. They are Brevard Public Schools and Department of Health guidelines. We cannot change them. When working with our front office staff, please know that they are following the guidelines we have been provided. Thank you for remaining kind and considerate.
