Captain's Log
PASS CHRISTIAN PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT
AHOY, PIRATES!
Season's greetings! I hope you and your families had a great week together. I am sure the time was relaxing and reinvigorating. For many, this is the time of year when we are hustling and bustling to buy gifts for loved ones and decorating our homes. Whereas others are missing loved ones for the first time or even remembering those who departed years ago. The holidays seem to evoke so many emotions and stress.
While all of this is going on, our work calls on us to focus on children and their needs. We have much to do over the next three weeks, please continue to make every effort to stay mission minded by ensuring lessons are well planned and standards based. The administrative team is here to support your efforts. In as much as we are a family, we are a team with the same goal of ensuring our students are equipped for life beyond the graduation stage. Please remember to take care of yourselves and to give yourselves time for personal care. Our children need you at your best, and that is only happens when we attend to self-care. As you go throughout your week, consider the items below to make sure you are at your best.
With that, I submit the Captain’s Log. #2020vision #committedtoeXcellence #eXcellencemarksthespot cje

Time to Measure Progress...
This is the time of year when we also take a mid-year progress measure to see if we are on target to meet/exceed our goals for the year. Each year, students take their mid-year diagnostics, mid-year/final exams, or state assessments (PCHS). I liken this to using a level because we can learn many things from one tool. Are we level and plumb? Are we off course or excelling? It is an exciting time as well; the children love sharing their successes and learning how they can improve setbacks. Please encourage children to do their best. I hope you are looking forward to seeing how your hard work is paying off with knowledge. I know I am. See your school's newsletter for your respective schedules.
