Horse Practices
Every Tuesdays in July starting at 7 pm at the fairgrounds. It is open to everyone. Contact Jessica Turbiville for questions.
All 2022 entry forms are now updated. They are uploaded on the Sioux County Extension website as fillable PDFs. Click 2022 Entry Forms above and it will redirect you to the website. You can fill them out and either email them or print off and drop them at the extension office or send them in the mail.

Sioux County 4-H is listed as a charity Amazon will donate to if customers utilize smile.amazon when making purchases. On your account you will designate the charity you would like to donate to. Smile.amazon behaves the exact same way as Amazon does but it also donates to the charity of your choice without changing your payment.
Candle Making Workshop

Use this workshop as an opportunity to start your own business while creating your very own scented candle.

Come improve your leatherworking skills by learning from a leather craftsman how to make a boot bag or a headstall!

Stained Glass Workshop - Registration Closed
- Who: youth ages 8+
- When: July 19th - 9 am to 3 pm
- Where: North Church
- Cost: $10
- Registration deadline: July 1
Create your own stained glass wind chime and jewelry during this all day workshop. This workshop is limited to 5 participants so register early! Please bring a sack lunch.

Fair Details
Clothing and Fashion Review Day
- All Clothing construction (etc. pillows) crochet, knitting, quilts, barn quilt projects will be judged on Friday, July 15th from 1 pm to 5 pm at the North Church. Construction judging will be from 1 to 3 pm, and modeling from 3 to 5 pm.
- The public style show will be held at 6 pm that night.
- Beyond the Needle, Quilting, Knitting, and Crochet exhibits need to have additional information sheet with their exhibit. This can be found at the website: https://extension.unl.edu/statewide/northernpanhandle/2020-sioux-county-fair/
Livestock Show
New this year: during the Bucket Calf class will include a few questions in the show ring about animal care and health. This will be used to determine the official placing. We also would like to have check-ins completed by 7:30 am on Friday, July 29th in order to help with the efficiency of the show.
- Registration and Weigh-ins start at 6:30 am
- $5 entry per class
- Hog Show starts at 8 am
- Then the Sheep Show
- Followed by Goat & Dairy Show
- Finally the Beef Show

Small Animal Show including Poultry
New this year the Poultry Show will follow the dog and cat shows on Monday, August 1st. The cat show will start first at 9 am, then the dog show, followed by rabbits and poultry shows. These shows will be held at the Sioux County Fairgrounds.
Horse Show
- Check-in starts at 7 am with the Show starting at 8 am on Tuesday, August 2nd.
- Two new classes added: Dummy Roping and Working Ranch Horse
- Pattern books will be available the morning of the show.
Art Hall Day
- Judging will take place from 9 am to 12 pm at the Art Hall.
- The following areas have extra forms required with their projects: Home Environment, Human Development, and Photography. Families can find these resources on the Fair website.
- FOOD PRESERVATION REMINDER: On the label of your project, you need to state the source of your recipe. Sources include the USDA Guide for Food Preservation, So Easy to Preserve, Ball Canning Guide and Extension publications. Be sure you include the year of publication. Publications must be no earlier than 1994 when processing times made numerous changes. Recipes from a church cookbook or auntie’s recipe box are NOT acceptable.
- During the static interview process ONLY THE EXHIBITOR will be allowed to communicate with the judge. The parent(s)/guardian(s) will not be allowed to be involved during the judging process.
