“A God who became so small could only be mercy and love.”

St. Thérèse of Lisieux

From Mr. Merrick

Dear St. Jerome Families,

I hope that you are all having a pleasant week so far. This week, we are finalizing preparations to have the roofs replaced on both school buildings. Both building's roofs have reached the end of their useful lives, and the drains need to be redone on the Blessed Mother Building. Thanks to your generous support of our fundraising efforts, we will be able to have this big project done over Christmas break. The crews will be here on December 19th to start their preliminary work, and they plan to be finished before we return from Christmas break.

We will gather as a school community for Mass at 10:00 AM tomorrow for the Immaculate Conception, a Holy Day of Obligation. Mrs. Schmidt's 6th Grade A class will assist as readers and gift bearers. The Mass will be live-streamed on our school Facebook page. Also, Mass will be celebrated at St. Jerome Church for the Holy Day:

  • Tonight, December 7th: 4:30 PM
  • Tomorrow,, December 8th: 6:30 AM, 8:00 AM, & 7:00 PM

Thank you so much to our Santa Shop volunteers who have made the shopping experience possible for our students. We greatly appreciate all of the efforts of our Home and School Association in bringing fun and educational experience for our students. We are always in need of volunteers to help with these events; volunteers during the school day do need their clearances. Information about obtaining volunteers clearances may be found here on our website or by contacting Roseann at our parish rectory office: 215-333-4461.

Last week, the Advent Prayer Service was also the first time that we had all of our students (including the Pre-K) in Church together since our opening of school blessing. We took that opportunity to recognize our Pre-K students who, along with our Kindergarten-8th graders, participated in our Lion Drawing and Coloring Contest for Lion Week; here are the top lion art in each homeroom:

Eleanor DiBello, Amelia Germosen, Giuseppe Giannetti, Grace Campbell, Brynn Gallagher, Zemora Stephens, Saraih Mejia Ruiz, Jacquelyn Marks, Grace Paone, Matthew Roakes, Edward Fitzhenry, Miley Handy, Arianna Kehl, Matthew Sokolowski, Emma Hand, Teaghan Adams, Sarah Harmon

Report cards for the first trimester were posted to OptionC this morning for kindergarten-8th; Pre-K progress reports are in their Wednesday Folders. Please contact the main office if you need your OptionC login. If you have any questions about your child's progress, please contact your child's teacher for that particular subject. Report cards are a good time for the students to reflect on their progress, celebrate successes, and set goals for improvement in the second trimester. We look forward to continuing to work together with you to provide the best for each one of our students.

We hope to see you tomorrow evening at our Merry and Bright Family Night; St. Jerome and St. Lucy, pray for us!

Registration for 2023-2024

In the Wednesday folder is the tuition and registration information for next year; while it is still early in the school year, we want to make sure that we save seats for our current families and new siblings through the end of January 27th when new student registration will begin. Copies of all of this information are also below. You can also return the Continuous Enrollment form electronically here. Registration fees will be added to your tuition account, so there is no need to send anything back, except for the Continuous Enrollment Form (paper or electronic) at this time.

If you are registering a new sibling, please indicate that on the paper or electronic form. Then, an application will be sent home by Mrs. Bacanskas for you to fill out.

Santa Shop (December 5th-December 9th)

Pre-K3 through 8th grade St. Jerome and St. Lucy students will be allowed to shop with their class during the designated time listed on the flyer. This event is a way for students to shop (in secret!) for the perfect gift for Mom, Dad, grandparents, siblings and other important people and pets in their lives.

Please use the budget envelope that was sent home with your child. This will allow you and your child to work together to decide how much can be spent on each person on their list. Gift items ranges from $1.00 to $10.00. Cash only no checks.

We invite the SJS community to shop at our community night tomorrow from 5-7 p.m. as a part of our Merry and Bright Family Night.
