FastBridge
Lundahl students will be taking FastBridge assessments at least 3 times this year. Our first screeners will be taking place on Wednesday, September 13 and Thursday, September 14. PLEASE NOTE: EARBUDS ARE REQUIRED FOR TESTING. Please remind your student to bring theirs with them to school.
Here are some tips to help your child be successful with showing their full understanding of the content being assessed:
Ensure your child charges their Chromebook the night before testing
Get a healthy and filling meal for dinner the night before and breakfast and lunch the day of testing
Turn off technology early and get a good night’s sleep
Remind your child to do their best so we can best support their learning and meet their needs

PBIS Donations Needed
Our students are busy collecting ROARS for being responsible, respectful, and safe! One of the most popular ways to redeem their ROARS is using them to purchase items at our ROAR Store. We are reaching out to ask for your help stocking our store. You can send donations with your student or drop them off at the front office Monday-Friday between 7:15 a.m. and 4 p.m. Items needed include:
- Bulk candy or candy bars (fun size preferred)
- Gum (either bulk Hubba Bubba or small packs)
- Chips (individual serving bags)
- Takis (individual serving bags)
- Gatorade (smaller bottle sizes preferred)
- Gift Cards to Five Below, Starbucks, Target, etc. ($5 or $10 amounts)
Dogs Not Allowed on Lundahl Property
As our after school events ramp up, we would like to remind you that dogs are not allowed on school property. This includes times such as before and after school pickup/drop-off, after school events (i.e. cross country or track meets), and during school hours. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students and community safe.
Chromebooks
One of the expectations for our students is to bring their fully charged Chromebook to school each day. If they forget to do so, we have a supply of loaner Chromebooks for students to use for the day. If you drop off your student's Chromebook after the start of the day, it will be delivered to the Tech Office and given to your student when they return the loaner.
Cell Phone Policy
- As a reminder, cell phones and all mobile devices, including smart watches, MUST be TURNED OFF and put away in their locker from 7:40am-2:14pm.
- If your child needs to contact you, please remind them to come to the office and ask for permission. If they follow this expectation, we will happily let them use the phone. If we find that the students are using their phones without permission, we will enforce our school procedures.
- Cell phones and mobile devices can be turned on at the end of the school day (after dismissal bell) and should be used primarily to communicate with parents/friends who are assisting with transportation.
- Cell phones and mobile devices may not be used during transition times or between classes.
- Consequences of cell phone violations can be found here.
Communication from D155
School Event Safety
At school events, the district is investing in enhanced communication and signage, an app that allows attendees to report concerns at events, and additional security guards at home football games. District 155 will not allow anyone to re-enter school events and no bags, no balls, no outside drinks or food will be allowed (unless for medical purposes). The Crystal Lake and Cary police departments will continue to have a police presence at District 155 home football games. At Crystal Lake Central, middle and elementary school students will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian in order to enter the stadium.
Parent Night
Notes from the LMC
Hello! My name is Ms. Rebella, and I am the full-time librarian at Lundahl Middle School! The library (LMC) is open and students have been busy checking out books, exploring the layout of the library, and learning about everything the LMC has to offer. It has been a great couple of weeks getting to know the school and students, and their excitement and motivation for reading is truly amazing. I look forward to getting to know each of the students better throughout the year.
The LMC in middle school is quite different from elementary school. The library is open the majority of the day and available to students and staff for multiple purposes (book checkout, research, group or independent work time, etc.). I meet regularly with classes to deliver book talks, teach research skills, and support classroom teachers with lessons specific to that class.
Another difference between elementary and middle school is the variety of books students have access to. Middle schoolers come with a wide range of reading levels, backgrounds, maturity levels, and life experiences, both positive and negative. We work hard to provide students with as much choice as possible. Please know we have books with more mature content and are considered YA (young adult). Please have conversations with your student about what you feel is appropriate for them to read. This will be different for all families, and that is OK. I also encourage you to ask your students about what they are reading to learn more about your growing and changing middle schooler. As I get to know your child as readers and individuals, I will be able to encourage new genres, topics, and authors.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at jrebella@d47.org.
CLPL Student Library Card Info
As new clubs begin, they will be added to our Clubs & Activities page on our website. We encourage parents and students to also check our Daily Announcements, which are posted on our website each day, to see what clubs are starting up soon.
Choir is starting soon!
If your student is interested in joining Choir, our first rehearsal will be on Tuesday, September 19th after school in the Music Room, Rm 100! Please click this link for more information, and here is a quick google sign-up form for parents/guardians to fill out (students can still show up to rehearsal even if the form hasn't been completed). There is no audition, all singers are welcome! Rehearsals will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:25-3:15 with the option of taking the 4:10 Activity Bus home (in which case students will report to the LMC for Homework Club after Choir). We are a performing ensemble that will have two concerts and other fun activities throughout the year! Please talk to Mrs. Witt with any questions - mwitt@d47.org.
Homework Club
On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, LMS hosts a homework club for students. Staff supervise students who might need a place to do work after a club ends until the activity buses leave at 4:10. Please note that this is a study hall environment until students from clubs and activities arrive at 3:30. At that point, it is a busier environment and not ideal to complete homework assignments. No advance sign up is required to attend, and students are not required to stay the entire time if they have made pick up arrangements to leave before 4:00. We encourage parents and students to discuss their after school arrangements in advance.
Activity Buses
The intent in providing these activity buses is to enable more of our students the opportunity to participate in school activities, clubs and sports. Activity buses run on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays throughout the school year. Buses depart from Lundahl on these days at 4:10 PM. Activity buses are available to any Lundahl student who has a regularly scheduled bus and remains at school until the departure time. Click here to view our activity bus stop locations. Please note, drop off locations are not always the same as daily bus routes.
