Maker Space Upcycling Project
Earth Day is April 22! Help Ms. Maas's Ecology students make a statement about the importance of conservation and recycling! Join their class collaborative project by collecting recycleable items and bringing them to the Library. Then participate in their class's collaborative aquarium made of upcycled items.
April is National Poetry Month
Look for activities all month to celebrate poems! On April 16, we'll celebrate an early Poem in Your Pocket Day with Poems and Pastries in the Library.
Our Best Loved Poems
Milk & Honey by Rupi Kaur
A student suggested we purchase this collection of poems two years ago, and we are so glad she did! It's our highest circulating poetry collection. Kaur's other collection, The Sun and Her Flowers, is also beautiful.
The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo
A phenomenal new talent, Elizabeth Acevedo tells the story of Xiomara in verse. A book that you will not be able to put down!
Every One by Jason Reybolds
A book of inspiration poems by the author of Long Way Down and All-American Boys.
