This spring the Conejo Valley Unified School District is proud to partner with the Los Angeles Rams to bring the PLAY 60 Challenge to four CVUSD elementary schools. The PLAY 60 Challenge Assembly is a fun and educational way to promote fitness and health to students in a game-show format.Read More

New Electronic Visitor Management System Coming to All CVUSD Schools

Conejo Valley Unified School District is pleased to announce that beginning on May 1, 2019 all CVUSD schools will be using a new electronic visitor management system (VMS). Part of keeping students and staff safe is knowing who is on our campuses at all times, and the VMS will allow us to efficiently, and effectively do that. This new process will help us track visitors, contractors, and volunteers in our schools in a more streamlined manner. The implementation of this new system also further emphasizes our commitment to continually improving our school safety protocols and procedures. Learn More

Abilities Awareness Week Comes to Weathersfield Elementary

This March Weathersfield Elementary hosted its inaugural Abilities Awareness Week with the theme “Just Say Hi…” to educate and encourage students to be kind, compassionate and understanding to individuals of all abilities.Read more

CVUSD Hosts Principal for a Half Day Program

On Tuesday, March 19th, there were more than 45 “Principals in Training” across CVUSD school sites as part of the annual Principal for a Half Day Program with community partner the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce. This annual event gives Chamber of Commerce members and members of the local community the opportunity to shadow the principal of a local elementary, middle or high school to experience firsthand the profession of a principal at a Conejo Valley Unified school. Opportunity for Current High School Juniors: Apply to the C.I.T.Y. Internship Program

C.I.T.Y. (Community, Internships, Training, Youth) is a summer internship program for 11th grade students in the summer before their senior year. This phenomenal program provides students with unique internship opportunities where they'll spend time with local employers, explore career pathways, and gain skills and experience that can be used for future jobs.

The Conejo Valley Unified School District is a proud C.I.T.Y. partner, and will be accepting applications for internship opportunities within its Human Resources, Fiscal Services, Planning & Facilities, and Technology departments.

Congratulations to Westlake High's Sophie State - CVUSD's April Teacher of the Month

Sophie State is a gifted educator who ensures all students succeed and reach their full potential. She is innovative in her teaching strategies and believes in the “power of yet,” meaning that all students have the potential to achieve when given the proper time and resources. She teaches biology, ELD, and serves as the Science Center Advisor for Westlake High School, and we are proud to call her our April Teacher of the Month! Read more

Join Us for "Prom Dress Pursuit" on April 10

Thank you for the generous response to our Conejo Closet. We are currently full to capacity with clothes donations, but we are accepting formal, Prom-style dresses through April 9th. Donations of all sizes may be dropped off at the CVUSD District Office Lobby (1400 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks) Monday- Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Please join us for "Prom Dress Pursuit" on Wednesday, April 10th from 3-5 p.m. in the CVUSD Board Room (1400 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks). This event is free for CVUSD students in need. You may bring one guest to help you select a dress. (Formal dresses sizes 4-18). See your School Counselor to RSVP for this event. Appetizers will be served! Read More

Congratulations to Sequoia Middle School's Shari Bachman, CVUSD's March Teacher of the Month!


Ms. Bachman has worked for the District for 23.5 years, serving all those years at Sequoia Middle School where she teaches art. She serves our students with a creative repertoire of projects, and ensures that the needs of all students are met at each level. Her unique lessons spark and engage students, allowing them to showcase their work through contests, share their passions, and express themselves through their artistic endeavors. Read more

The John L. Notter Boys & Girls Club Celebrates Grand Opening

With a special grand opening ceremony inside the recently constructed John L. Notter Family Boys & Girls Club – a new era of enrichment services and educational programs are now available to our Redwood Middle School families, and community. Thanks to years of planning and hard work, the vision to have a beautiful, permanent Boys & Girls Club facility for the Redwood community has arrived. Read more

Westlake High's LaunchX Club Transforms Students into Entrepreneurs

Developing a business to find a solution to a need or problem is at the core of LaunchX – Westlake High School’s entrepreneurship club for students. At the start of this school year five Westlake High freshman - Charles, Angela, Bethany, Joshua and Charisse - teamed up through LaunchX to create a business together. After a bit of trial and error with different concepts the group of five students landed on Collegae. Read more

Our Parent Outreach Program Cordially Invites You to Attend the 6th Annual Conference for Spanish Speaking Parents

Please save the date for the 6th Annual Conference for Spanish Speaking Parents on Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 7:30am to 12:30pm at Colina Middle School. This year's conference theme is: Math 2x2 Every1 - "Only you and mathematics can convert negative into positive."
