Welcome to Kinder

We are excited that your child has enrolled in Kindergarten!!

On this site, you will meet our kinder teachers and find activities & resources to help prepare your child for Kindergarten through critical thinking, high exposure to letters and literacy, words, numbers, and following directions.

Please Talk to Your Child

Please talk to you child about what it means to:

Be kind.

Have Looking eyes.

Have Listening ears.

Have Quiet mouth.

Have Helping hands

Have Walking feet

Parents Please Help Prepare Your child for Kinder

The following skills are highly encouraged as students begin Kinder:
  • Sit in a chair for at least 5 minutes
  • Proper bathroom habits
  • Proper handwashing habits
  • How to use hand sanitizer
  • How to blow their nose
  • How to cover mouth when coughing or sneezing
  • Opening lunch items and packing up lunch when finished
  • Hands to self, no hitting
  • Recognition of letters/numbers/their name
  • Writing their name
  • Dressing themselves
  • Buckling seatbelt
  • Following 2-3 step directions
  • Get in & out of car independently

Word Games

The Get Ready to Read! website has a free interactive reading game called "Gus and Inky's Underwater Adventure." Gus, a character who is struggling to learn how to read, is the rabbit who appears on PBS's Emmy Award-winning show Between the Lions.
