Week One- Lessons learned
Week one is over, and overall we were thrilled with the engagement, the connection, and the resilience shown by our students- with huge kudos to our teaching staff for their hard work in getting this Herculean task off the ground.
If your student experienced login or access issues, please don't hesitate to contact the office. If access to video meetings were specific to just a few classes, this was likely because they were not logged into Zoom under their .net accounts. Please see this tutorial to help.
There were of course glitches all around, and these will smooth out as we get into the quarter. If you ask any teacher what the best part of their week was, it was hearing their students' voices and seeing their faces- connecting with our Broncos is the reward.
We will be organizing some student forums in the weeks ahead, as we want to hear from our students about their experiences, what is working, and what we can do better. Additionally, I will be welcoming parents to a virtual coffee talk next week, so mark your calendars!
Appreciatively,
Kelly Cooper
Principal
Tech Updates- Attendance, Google Classroom and More
Attendance- there are 4 levels of participation noted in Homelink.
- P - participated- your student came to the class, participated in the Zoom/Google Meet session
- 4- Student turned in an assignment that day, but did not attend the Zoom/Google Meet
- 3- Student or parent emailed someone in the office or the teacher
- A- Student was not present, nor did work in the class that day.
If you feel your student was marked in error, please contact the teacher.
Google classroom is adding parents as guardians with the Homelink integration, and we are told this will be completed this weekend. Parent should receive an email that asks if they would like to be added, and then they will be prompted to adjust their notification settings.
If you do not receive this email and are not listed as a guardian, please email the teacher. The student cannot add you as a guardian themselves.

Link Crew welcomes our new Broncos!
They worked in breakout rooms, connected with each other and some new friends, and their work will continue throughout the year.
Considering the scope of the event, it went extremely well, and we hope your freshman thought so too!
