## English and Language Arts

We have finished going over the released STAAR test. I know that reviewing it has been very beneficial and learners have some skills and strategies they did not have before! We will continue to complete some practice passages for the next few weeks so your child will be ready on April 23rd!

For reading, learners will continue with their book clubs! Have you asked your kiddo about these? Each child chose a book and was put into groups with other kids who chose that book. They read a chapter individually and then write a summary, thoughts and questions, and vocabulary words from that chapter. After that, they meet as a group and discuss the chapter.

This week, we will also participate in Daily 5 to practice our skills.

## Math

Math W.O.W. Centimeter: is the width of a large paper clip.

This week we will be reviewing fractions and exploring different types of measurement. Challenge your learners to measure objects around the house! Maybe have them help you cook dinner. I love how math is all around us!!

## Science

This week will review the planets in the solar system and take a look at matter. Learners will be able to explore a few websites that teach the changes matter goes through when it is heated and/or cooled! So fun!!

## What should my learner be doing at home?

Please pick between these resources and complete 3-4 nights a week for practice at home. From our experience, we feel that 30 minutes is an appropriate amount of time for "home fun". Thank you for supporting us with this!
