Peek At The Week!
Week of 3/2/20
Principal's Message...
Welcome March!
We will be continuing our Tier 3 RTI Behavior Planning Meetings this week with our first meeting scheduled for Monday, 3/2/20 at 9am. Linda will be joining us, along with others from central office. Linda has asked NE Basecamp Director Donna Stone and the Educational Director from the Bradley School Trish Martins to be our invited guests. They will help us brainstorm what we can do as we move forward with PBIS development and trauma informed practices, etc.
We have invited representation from PBIS, SIT, our TAs and teachers to be part of this meeting. The meeting will be from 9am-12pm and all who are able to attend- some or all of the meeting- are invited. We will be in the conference room. Please feel free to come and stay for as long as you can.
Recently, we have been thinking of moving our calming room (Room 56) because of its location. This room is directly in front of a very high traffic area and does not seem to be the best spot for a quiet area. A team of teachers identified an alternate location that they thought could be a better space, however, it may not be. For now, moving Room 56 has been put on hold for the moment.
RICAS preparation will begin in March and our faculty meetings will look a bit different. All teachers in grades 3 & 4, along with special educators and interventionists, will participate in Test Administration Training and other RICAS preparation planning on 3/12 and 3/19. All other grade levels will have a different agenda, focused on Social Emotional Learning- more to come.
Finally, I would like to give a shout-out to our amazing itinerant educators at PDES. I am always so impressed with how these educators build relationships with ALL students and address their needs- while implementing their curriculum to high standards- in such short blocks of time. I am grateful- not only for your professionalism, but for your dedication and expertise. Your ability to offer our students a nurturing, caring space to grow and learn, while providing them with high quality instruction is commendable. Thank you.
Wishing everyone a great week!
With much respect and appreciation,
~Kim
