Winter Break is Upon us

Next week Monday (12/18) and Tuesday (12/19) we have two full days of school. It is a 2:25PM regular dismissal BOTH days.

Wednesday, December 20th marks the start of winter break meaning there is NO SCHOOL.

Classes will RESUME on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 7:25AM

Thank you for your generosity.

Mrs. Wideman would like to thank the Grewenow Families and Staff for their donations to our Kenosha Community members in need. Together, we collected 1,356 items for our local homeless shelters and 244 items for our food drive. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Happy Holidays!

Remember to Dress for the Weather

Now that we can say it is winter (snow anyone?), please make sure your child is dressed for appropriately for outdoor recess. Hats, coats, mittens/gloves, boots, and snow pants are all recommended so students can stay warm and dry.

As long as the windchill is above zero, students will line up outside in the morning and will be outdoors for recess.

If there is snow on the ground, students who do not have boots and snow pants must remain on the blacktop for recess.

If you have any questions or concerns about the outdoor recess protocol, please call the office at 359-6362

Missing items?

Our lost and found, which is housed in the multipurpose room, is getting very full. If your child is missing an article of clothing, please remind them the check it out. We know that families spend good money on clothing for their children, so please know that there are many lost items just waiting to be found.

Academic Learning Updates

Mid year Academic Testing

Students have begun their mid year progress monitoring assessments. Between now and the end of quarter 2 (January 18) teachers will administer the winter MAP reading and math assessments and the annual Fountas & Pinnell literacy assessment. These mid-year progress checks will provide teachers with information about student progress and guide their decisions about what to review and how to introduce new content in the spring semester.
