Our students

Our students are doing a great job staying on track with their learning. Many of them changed teachers when Hybrid started and they handled the change with great flexibility and resilience!

We are proud of our students and their "support staff" (families) for their success!

Please remember that Music, PE, and Library are part of the instructional day and students are expected to attend. All of these classes are done remotely via zoom whether students are in the hybrid or remote model.

We have fielded some questions about the fall, and right now all I can say is that we hope to have as many students back in person as possible, but we do not know what the model(s) will be yet. As district level decisions like this are made, they will be sending communications directly and we will share any Edmonds Elementary specific information as well. For now, we do know that our current model will be in place through the end of this school year. We know that there will be summer school opportunities for our most struggling students and we will have some form of in person learning in the fall. The Edmonds Elementary Team will support our students the best we can!

Parent Pick-up and Drop-off Please stay in your car and in line

Thank you for your patience as we implement required protocols to keep our students safe. We all want our students to be safely on time. Please do not add unnecessary delays by getting out of the car when dropping off or picking up students. Also, we need to keep the west side of the parking lot clear so students can get to their parents. Please model taking turns for our students and follow the car line. Thank you.

Safety Note: if at all possible, please have your child/children exit the vehicle on the right side next to the sidewalk so they don't have to walk between cars.

Funny Story from an In Person Classroom

Soon after our return to in person learning, one of our students who is known for their spirited personality, was talking too much and interrupting class . With a twinkle in their eye, they said the teacher, "I'll bet you miss that mute button now!"

Please Complete attestations by 7:15 - earlier if possible!

Thank you to those of you who are completing the health attestations first thing in the morning! There is a bit of a lag from when you complete it until when we see it, and we cannot let students into class until it has been completed, so the earlier the better.

Do you need to change your pick up plan? Is your student going to be absent?

Please be sure to contact the office directly by phoning (425)431-7374 if you have any updates.

If you are changing your child's pick up arrangements (bus vs walk vs pickup) please call the office by 1:00pm so we can have them in the right place at the right time.

All absences must be called into the office at 425-431-7374 ext 1 or emailed to Janet Keehr keehrj@edmonds.wednet.edu.

See our "Story of Your Name" Flipgrid "Mixed Tape"!

Teachers will be adding a link to Canvas or SeeSaw so students can see their contributions to our video story. Ask your student if the video is on their class site! It's well worth watching.

Please return Jump ropes - Ms. Kotik

Edmonds Tech Orientation

Contact: Sarah Luczyk

The Libraries and Instructional Department and Technology Department are pleased to offer video training and a hands on Canvas course for families new to the Edmonds School District as well as other families that may want an overview of our online instructional tools. The links to the orientation video, Canvas course, and other helpful materials can be found on the ESD Learning Resources website or the Canvas Family Resources website.

The Canvas course was created to help new students navigate access to their first day of school online and will cover topics such as Gmail, Google Drive, Chromebook basics, Canvas/Clever (for Seesaw), Skyward, Edmonds Bookmarks, and Zoom. We are excited to share this with them and others who could benefit from it.

A special thank you to Sarah Schumacher and Kim Zimmerman from Meadowdale Middle, who partnered with us to develop these valuable resources!

Chromebook Updates

  • Our team recently came across a Chromebook update simulator. Feel free to use this to guide your students through updating their Chromebooks. The page features other Chromebook simulations that may also be useful for you and your students.
