The Principal's Message

Bear Branch Junior High parents,

In our reading last week of The Culture Code, we read a story about Michael Abrashoff, a navy captain who took command of the destroyer USS Benfold in 1997. When he took over, the Benfold ranked at the bottom of the navy's performance scores. As he worked to improve the success of his ship, he had meetings with every sailor on the boat and asked them each the same three questions:

1. What do you like most about the Benfold?

2. What do you like least?

3. What would you change if you were captain?

Over the last few days, I've been having the same conversations with teachers on campus as we look for ways to improve BBJH and I look for ways to improve myself. With that being said, I would love to hear any feedback you might have. If there are some things we are doing really well...please let me know. If there are some things we could improve on, or specifically, I could improve on...please let me know.

If you you've not read the book, I would encourage you to pick it up and read along with us. Additionally, if you decide to read it, please share anything you find interesting or that resonates with you in some way. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of assistance in any way. Thanks!
