NAESP: Report to Parents - Managing Virtual Learning Stress
We are so proud of our students for their abilities to navigate the virtual setting of our classrooms. Teachers are always available for help and assistance - whenever there is a challenge experienced on a particular day or the technology just doesn't seem to be cooperating. Do not hesitate to reach out. Keep encouraging your children to do their best and contact our amazingly helpful Student Support Counselors if children need encouragement or reinforcement. For even more ideas to help your child better attend the main subjects during their days, read NAESP's: Report to Parents - Managing Virtual Learning Stress
"As schools across the country are conducting schoolwork remotely, many children are forced to deal with what some call “Zoom Fatigue.” Whatever the virtual platform used, maintaining focus, eliminating distractions, and coping with self-consciousness presents new challenges and takes its toll on students. Fortunately, there are ways you can help your child proactively be more engaged and manage this fatigue"

Important Information
Butler Daily Schedule Reminder - Through 10/23
During this next phase of virtual learning, Butler will maintain a consistent lunch/recess period from 11:30AM-12:10PM for all students in Grades one through six. This will best support the need to maintain home schedules during the final stages of our building's construction project.
In order to accomplish this:
- Butler Elementary will continue with the current instructional schedule through Friday, October 23rd. It is the same schedule that has been in-place since September 14th.
- Specials will remain asynchronous (pre-recorded), but the expectation is that children attend all special lessons as if it were a live lesson. When projects are completed, students will need to follow the parameters for submitting assignments.
Butler must follow the District's Specialist Rotation Schedule - starting yesterday, 9/30. We will began with our Day-A Rotation for classroom special schedules,. Your child's teacher will send reminders for the correct special our 9-day-in-a-row special rotations - and how to access the pre-recorded lessons.
Any questions about assignments for specials, please contact your Specialist Teacher:
- Art - Mrs. Zachmann (czachmann@cbsd.org)
- Gym - Mrs. Engart (rengart@cbsd.org)
- Library - Mrs. Hanna (lhanna@cbsd.org)
- Music - Mrs. Griffin (lgriffin@cbsd.org)
- QUEST - Ms. Augustine (baugustine@cbsd.org)

Guidelines for Good Hygiene Practices
As part of our District Health and Safety Plan, schools will share guidelines for healthy hygiene practices such as handwashing and hand sanitizing, the use of face coverings, social distancing, and staying home when sick. These short videos were created by the National Association of School Nurses. When students return, these will be reviewed in classrooms, but you are free to watch with your child to help at home, too!
