PTSO Leadership Scholarship Application
The GCA PTSO Leadership Scholarship purpose: To acknowledge the GCA student that made or plans to make an impact in their school or community while demonstrating positive leadership qualities.
Application dates for submission: 2/1/2016 - 3/1/2016
On 3/15/2016 your GCA PTSO Executive Board will select and notify 10 Applicants.The 10 Applicants will then submit a 500 word essay by 3/31/2016.
The GCA PTSO Executive Board will chose and announce the winner of the scholarship on 4/06/2016.
Minimum Qualifications: The student must be a Senior with Georgia Cyber Academy and meet all GCA Graduation Requirements. Scholarship must be used toward the students furthering education program.
Note: No GCA PTSO Executive Board Members students can receive this scholarship.

We are inviting you to participate in the Georgia Cyber Academy PTSO Leadership and Development Scholarship.
The Georgia Cyber Academy Leadership and Development Scholarship was established by the PTSO in recognition of the dedication of Georgia Cyber Academy students who choose to further their personal leadership and development through higher education for future prosperity.
PTSO have agreed to match all donation up to $500 dollar for dollar.

February Regional Events
National Build Events at Home Depot and Lowe’s. Every month, both Lowe’s and Home Depot offer kids clinics for free.
Feb. 13th: Lowes. 10-11 am. The project will be announced at the beginning of February with registration opening on Feb. 6th. Kids get to keep the craft, and will receive an apron, certificate, goggles, and a patch. Registration is HIGHLY recommended as spots fill up quickly. More information can be found at

Feb 20th: CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATION IN CHATTANOOGA
Noon to 4 p.m.
Join Creative Discovery Museum as we celebrate the year of the Monkey during our annual Chinese New Year celebration on Saturday, February 20, 2016. This spectacular event allows guests to learn about ancient Chinese traditions, make unique crafts, and enjoy special entertainment from Chinese dance and martial arts performers.
“Creative Discovery Museum's Chinese New Year event is a special time for families to celebrate a cultural tradition while engaging in a rich and colorful arts experience,” said Liza Blair, Arts Manager at Creative Discovery Museum. “Our friends from the Chien Hong School of Kung Fu in Atlanta, Ga., will be back again this year to present the ancient Lion dance for guests in the Atrium. Chattanooga-area folk dancers will also present traditional Chinese dances and routines during the event.”
Event schedule:
12 p.m. - 4 p.m.: Paper monkey masks and lion puppet activities
12 p.m. - 4 p.m.: Chopstick activity
12 p.m. - 1 p.m.: Cooking lesson / Chinese dumpling tasting
1 p.m.: Lion dance
1:30 p.m.: Folkloric Chinese dance
2 p.m.: Martial Arts demonstration
2:30 p.m.: Sword dance
3 p.m.: Lion dance
3:30 p.m.: Folkloric Chinese dance
4 p.m.: Chinese song
Activities and performances are free with admission to the Museum. Price is $12.97 for ages 2 years old and up. Don't forget to wear your GCA attire.

Feb. 12th: 2:30-4:30 Valentine’s Day Party Chick-Fil-A on Inner Perimeter Road Valdosta for crafts and card exchange. Please RSVP to this form so that Alyce (Region Lead) has an idea how many crafts to supply and how many kids to expect.
Feb. 12th: VSU Open House at the Planetarium. Join us as we find out “Where Did All the Planets Go?” Valdosta State University. Show is FREE at the Planetarium in the Science building on the Main Campus.
Shows are at 7, 8, & 9 pm on a first-come basis. After the show, join the staff on the roof (weather permitting) for star-gazing.
As always, we participate in the National Home Depot and Lowe’s build events.
