Professional Growth Day: Revitalizing Research
The deadline for registration is Monday, September 28 by 5pm.
Our keynote speakers are nationally recognized leaders in the field! Deborah Ford probably needs no introduction: former District Librarian for San Diego Unified, popular BER presenter, and now Director of Outreach for Junior Library Guild. Marc Aronson is an editor, an award-winning author, a professor of library science, and a leading advocate of the Common Core State Standards. Both presenters will also offer two unique breakout sessions.
Breakout session topics are subject to change, but we currently have plans to include--
- World Book
- California Young Reader Medal
- Tech Strategies to Enhance Collaboration
- Best Books
- Google Apps for Education
- Free Informational Text
- Maximizing Databases
If your district subscribes to the Digital Content Portal and you just haven't had the time to dig in and explore the resources fully, you may want to join us on October 7 for a more immersive experience.
I present this seminar around the country for the Bureau of Education & Research. I will be delivering this seminar free of cost several times this year. You will only need to download and print the handbook that I will send out to participants. The two fall dates are Friday, October 30 and Friday, December 18.
IMRA stands for Instructional Media Resource Assistant. It's an 8 week online course that covers a variety of skills and standards that are integral for those working in the 21st century school library. The face-to-face day for our fall cohort will be on Thursday, October 1. Register here.
