Chernobyl
Cows grazed on contaminated grass which caused thyroid cancer from milk. When Chernobyl was destroyed a radioactive cloud 3,280 feet high spread over parts of Ukraine. Many engineers learned a lesson from the accidents that that happened on April 26 1986. Five million people still live on contaminated areas. The fallout has especially contaminated the fish and rivers of Ukraine.
Trans-Siberian
The Trans-Siberian Railroad is the longest railroad in the world. Trans-Siberian Means across Siberia. This railroad was built in 1916. This railroad still runs today. The Trans-Siberian Railroad is 6000 mile long.
Aral Sea
The Aral sea was one of the biggest lakes in the world. Located in central Asia. Large Parts of central Asia are arid or semi-arid.The cause of the shrinking was the efforts to grow cotton. The pesticides and fertilizer ran into the lake.
