College Credit Plus
The parent information meeting about College Credit Plus will be held Wednesday, January 17th 2018 at 7pm in the PAC at Pickerington High School North.
Students that would like to take College Credit Plus courses next year but do not already have college-ready scores from the ACT or SAT can sign up to take the January Accuplacer exam in the counselors’ office. The exam will be at Central on January 22nd and North on the 23th during the school day, and at Central on the 24th and North on the 25th after school.
Seating is limited and this will be the only time the Accuplacer will be offered here at school. Students that are unable to attend are eligible to take the Accuplacer through Columbus State or COTC until March 1st.
Please email Dean Sabetta (dean_sabetta@plsd.us) if you have any questions.

Are You Ready for Snow Days?
Check contact info on Infinite Campus
First, parents are reminded to make sure their contact information and preferences are up to date on Infinite Campus. Pickerington Schools announces emergency closings and delays through telephone calls and emails, based on these contact preferences. Go to the Infinite Campus parent portal for details and to update your contact information.
We also post information to our district Facebook and Twitter feeds, our website, and with the local TV stations.
Develop a family emergency plan
Develop a family emergency plan to ensure your children have proper care in case of a snow day — including the possibility that schools may need close earlier than normal.
When developing your plan, it will be helpful to know what the school schedules are in the event of a two-hour delay or if we must close early.
How do we make up snow days?
If the district uses a calamity day before Presidents Day on February 19, we will use that day as a make-up day.
If necessary, the second, third, and fourth snow/calamity days will be made up with student “blizzard bags.” These bags are assigned to students by their teachers. For grades 5-12, the assignments are posted to your child’s Google Classroom page. Assignments for grades K-4 are online.
Who makes the decision… and when?
The superintendent makes the final decision, based upon various factors and recommendations from the transportation and facilities teams. There is no “magic temperature” or specific amount of snow that causes us to close school.
We strive to make the decision to delay or close by 5:30 a.m. or earlier so we can notify radio and TV stations, post to the district website, and send electronic notices to emergency announcement subscribers. However, unusual weather conditions sometimes force us to make the decision after this time.
Once a decision is made to delay or close school, the information is shared with parents as quickly as possible.
Don’t forget to bundle up!
It should go without saying, but remember to bundle up your children to handle the cold! That includes clothing layers involving sweaters, pants, winter coats, hats, scarves, warm socks, and boots.
