RC Mac Community News

May 13-15

Good morning Students and Parents,

A big thank you to divisions 1 and 2 for creating some cards to thank nurses. Their kind and caring cards will be hand delivered to nurses who work with Ethan's mom. Great work!

A reminder to all students- the deadline for submitting a yearbook art cover is tomorrow. So far I have received 2 possible covers. You can send a photo, drop off a paper drawing or send a file to participate.

In this newsletter we have some fun activities for students to try at home. Thanks to Ms. Pankratz, Ms. Rawlings and Ms. Clarke for sharing these creative ideas. We hope you can try them when you have a few spare minutes.

In other news....

  • Welcome to Kindergarten: New and returning RC Kindergarten parents will receive a personal email shortly with the details.
  • Leaving Ceremony for Grade 5 students is being planned within the SD43 directives. Our Grade 5 parents will receive an email from Mrs. Roberts later this week outlining plans.
  • COVID-19 Survey: Please use the link to the read the BC Centre for Disease Control Survey. Participation is voluntary for BC residents ages 19 and older.
  • Schools in BC: Various news reports tell us that elementary schools across the province are opening for part time in school classes during June. The details are still being carefully determined by the Ministry of Education. My understanding is that school attendance will be voluntary (up to parents) and the online learning platforms that teachers have set up will continue during June to support the learning of all students. In this regard I am confident that RC Mac students will have access to their education and parents can feel relieved that their children will be in a safe environment whether at home or in the school.

Hope you have a productive week!

Mrs. Roberts
