Physical Properties

Any characteristics of a materiel that can be observed or measured without changing the identity of a materiel

Examples:

  • color and shape
  • lenght and mass
  • volume and density[D=M/V]

Physical Change

The physical property of a substance change , but the identity of a substance does not change

Examples:

  • changing from one state of matter to the next. [ice melts to liquid boils to steam
  • melting 0 degrees c

Chemical Properties

Any characteristics that gives a substance the ability to undergo a charge that results in a new substance.

Examples

  • Flammibility[ability to burn]
  • reacts with light[pictures being developed]
  • Reacts with oxegen[ability to rust
  • reacts with water[medicene dissolving in water

Chemical Change

Any change in the identity of a substance due to the chemical properties of that substance. [you have a new substance] [is it reverseibale?]

Examples:

  • Flammibilty [fire burning to ash]
  • Reacts with oxegen [fruit rotting]
  • Heat and light[vitimans can charge exposed to light]
  • Electricity[ water can be broken down with electricity]
