"We can begin by doing small things at the local level, like planting community gardens or looking out for our neighbors. That is how change takes place in living systems, not from above but from within, from many local actions occurring simultaneously."
-- Grace Lee Boggs

Our week here at Parsons is a great example of this. Parents teachers and students working together to support one another. Each person, team and group made an important contribution to an awesome school week.

Local Heros

Diane Wolf who shared a school nutrition lesson with Mrs. Lord's first grade class.

Melanie Ford for organizing an amazing field day. We appreciate all of your work to make the two days fun and successful.

Trisha Baughman for supporting Walk to School Day.

Yearbook Photos

Great News! Our yearbook publisher now has an app so you can submit photos right from your phone or tablet. Go to your app store for Apple or Android. Download the app called Balfour ImageShare. Open the app and you will be asked for project number (616913) and password (lioncub) and your contact info. You can send an existing picture from your gallery or take one and send from within the app. When sending the picture, tell us the student name or teacher/class name and event so we can consider it for the correct yearbook page. No need to send all of your pictures. Just send us your best pictures. Thanks for your help in making this a great yearbook for Parsons!

Flu Shots available

Publix is coming here to Parsons to administer flu shots on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 3:45 - 4:15 PM.

Tech Tips from Ricky Berry

Plan at least one day a month to use your laptop plugged in to the network with an Ethernet cable for a few hours.

This will make sure that the computer's account is registered and that updates get applied that might not happen wirelessly.

If your laptop decides one day that it doesn't want to connect to the wireless network, this is the first thing I will do:

Connect the laptop to an Ethernet cable (one end plugged into the wall jack, of course)

Use the laptop connected this way for a class period if possible

Disconnect the Ethernet cable and check the wireless connection (H: drive, S: drive, Google)

Rejoice and do the happy dance if the problem is resolved

This also works for the student laptops
