The DeCoste Writing Protocol:

A 2-day, Short Course on PK-12 Writing

Denise DeCoste, PhD, OTR

Description- Workshop ID # SP1632486

Most teachers and therapists report that there is a lack of professional learning on comprehensive writing development. This two-day workshop will offer participants a short course on writing. The full day sessions will present the latest research on handwriting, keyboarding, spelling development, composing, and assistive technology. Participants will be stepped through the administration of the new *DWP protocol. Additionally, research-driven practices for writing instruction will be presented across the grades (PK-12). A key theme for this workshop will be the need for occupational therapists, speech therapists, general and special educators to work across disciplines in order to provide integrated services to improve writing instruction and writing outcomes.
