A Conversation About Our Community's Economic Future
Where should we go next?
In this second of three forums, the community will ask itself: "Where should we go next?"
With so many different organizations and groups working on specific missions, this forum series is a chance to bring everyone together and work towards a common goal, as defined by the community itself. It helps to step back and talk about where we are as a community before we move forward to address mutual concerns.

These meetings will be a conversation about this community’s economy--where it is now, and where it has been. This is your chance to take stock of the work currently being done in your community, and it’s also your chance to begin thinking seriously about your community’s assets and strengths. The forums will be led by the David Mathews Center which is a non-partisan organization that works with communities throughout Alabama, facilitating civic engagement in deliberative decision making and public policies.
Regardless of whether you can attend this event we want your input. Please take a few minutes and complete the survey at this link: What's Next Cullman Survey

Prosperity can mean different things to different people. It can mean having a good job, a house, enough money to make ends meet, plus a little extra to set aside. Prosperity can mean living in a place with laws and policies that give everyone a fair chance to succeed. Prosperity can also mean having many friends or being in a position to give to others. It can mean having a strong cultural heritage, feeling content with your life, living in a beautiful landscape, or living in a place where people look out for one another.
There are lots of ways to think about building a more prosperous future. It’s up to your community to decide what’s the best fit. Now that we've discussed what prosperity means to this community, let’s take a step forward, and ask ourselves, “Where should we go next?”
