The last week in review...
It was brought to my attention this week that not all of our students know about the "Anonymous Student Reporting" This is where if you see something you need to say something. It is completely anonymous. https://www.earlvillecusd9.org/page/student-help-desk
GREAT NEWS! Thank you students for taking the Panorama survey seriously. Some of the students put the tunnel as their response for "If I could fix one thing at Earlville CUSD 9". Starting on Monday the sidewalk above the tunnel and then the tunnel will be fixed. If you are going to breakfast in the morning and are not coming in the front door, you will enter in the front of the Old Gym and walk downstairs. An adult will still be at the entrance to the school, they can help direct you to the correct place. Please stay away from the cautioned off area. Remember we listen to you :)
This past week I had a conversation with all of the Junior high and High school students on the importance of keeping their hands to themselves. This is including but not limited to pulling on backpacks and lanyards. We have had a few incidents of students taking other students backpacks without permission, so I made sure all of the students knew that the expectation is that the students all keep their hands to themselves and not to take other peoples belongings.
Make sure you are marking your calendars for all the fun and exciting events that are planned. We hope to see you at the games cheering on the teams! We are doing a great job on this. The stands are becoming full and full of excitement! Keep it up!
Academy topic of the week:
This week we discussed strategies for students to destress. Ask your 6th or 9th grade child what strategies they learned or what works best for them.
October Student of the Month:
Huge D2E shoutout to Senior Lexie Campbell, Daughter of Jeff and Missy Campbell, for being selected as Earlville High School's October Student of the Month. Lexie was selected based on academic performance, character, effort, and social relationships. Some of the teacher comments include but are not limited to; "Lexie is a leader in the classroom, she works hard and is creative," "Lexie works hard and is persistent," "I nominate Lexie based on her loyalty, compassion, and good citizenship." She earned a $5 gift card and a preferred parking spot.
