Plant Adaptations in Water

Underwater leaves are flexible to move with water currents, Some plants have air spaces in their stems to help hold the plant up the water, roots and root hairs reduced or absorbent roots only needed for anchorage not for absorption of nutrients.

Evolution of Water plants

Modern classification systems based largley on moleculer evidence divide living organisms into three domains Bacteria, Arhcaea, and Eukarya. Plants classified as a kingdom within the eukarya organisms that possess a nucleus, mitochondria, an internal cytoskeleton, and in photosynthetic species chloroplasts.
