Principal's Message

With Covid restrictions relaxed, we have been able to enjoy a great number of school wide activities. Team sports are taking place and we are hosting tournaments at the school again. Buddy activities are happening and it is so great to see our older students buddied up the younger ones again. Cheermania is taking place April 7th and we are attending mass after Easter in two groups. There is much to be thankful for.

We are very proud of the groups of students who are working to raise money to help the people of the Ukraine. It will likely mean I will take a pie in the face, but there is no greater cause than helping those in need!

A little piece of news to share is that I will be retiring this year. Working at the Bless for 22 years has been a great privilege. I would like to thank all of our school community, students, staff and parents for all the support over the years. I know that my replacement will be equally blessed to have you all!

As we continue through this Lenten season, we prepare for Holy Week. We endevour to remind our students and staff to take time to reflect on what this week means and the freedom of spirit it brings.

Pope Francis says, “Jesus teaches us another way: Go out. Go out and share your testimony, go out and interact with your brothers, go out and share, go out and ask. Become the Word in body as well as spirit.”

May his message bring peace and joy to you and yours this Easter.

God bless.

Michelle Folk

Volunteers Needed for Track Meet!

Junior high track meet will be happening this year at Blessed Sacrament School on May 17th. Our division track meet will also run on June 1st and be for select students in grades 4 - 9. In order to run these successful events we need adults who can come and help out for the entire day. Track meet runs 9:00 - 3:30 and we need people to volunteer as timers, officials and concession help. In the past we have had a crew provide lunch options like BBQ burgers and snacks. We would love to have people step up to help provide some lunch options for the kids on these days. If you can be of some service on either of these days please email dean.gau@ecacs16.ab.ca Thank you for your continued support.
