Sports Team Day
Greenlee Primary School and Mitchell High School united to empower young students to be active. Mitchell athletes from seven teams shared their passion for sports while teaching basic skills to Greenlee students.
Spring Chicks
Second graders were able to learn about the life cycle of chicks while completing an unforgettable science experiment. Students read and researched about the cycle of chickens and even predicted when the new hatchlings would arrive. As each chick hatched, students were able to witness and make their own observations. Students also learned responsibility while caring for the chicks until they were ready to go back into the hands of local farmers!
YOGA
Health Science students from Mitchell High School visited Mrs. Carole Duncan's kindergarten classroom to teach yoga. Yoga has many benefits for students which include flexibility, strength, coordination, and a sense of calmness and relaxation.
Earth Day
Mrs. Street's second grade class celebrated Earth Day by learning the 3 R's: reduce, reuse, and recycle. Students researched and wrote promises of ways they plan to help preserve the beautiful planet. Students also completed an art component with coffee filters and markers to recreate Earth.
