LMHS Weekly Wednesday Update
March 17, 2021
Message From The Principal
Coming to Life Again!
This past week we have seen more activity on campus than we have in an entire year. Seeing students on campus for practice, seeing seniors at Chick-fil-a and more and more staff coming on campus to prepare their rooms has brought new energy and life to LMHS. It is exciting! It is a very different environment though. Trying to recognize our students in masks, seeing lots of plexiglass and standing 6 feet apart bring new challenges. As a staff we are very aware that school is going to be different when our students arrive. Conversations and planning are happening to figure out how we can build community once our students are back on campus. I am so thankful for our LMHS staff who anxious to see their students again and wanting their return to be so positive and supportive.
Thanks to our parents and students for your patience as we work through the details. It seems like the rules are changing daily in LA County now. We are ready and staying current. Can't wait to open the doors...

Athletics Update
Current Protocols
Athletic competition is happening daily! Congratulations to Girl's and Boy's Soccer for starting their seasons with wins over Milikan and Troy. Cross Country runs today against Norwalk HS at Benton and Thursday both Boy's and Girl's Soccer take on La Serna and Football travels to Orange. It is so great to see our athletes back on the field competing.
Currently spectators are limited to immediate family members. We have very limited capacity in many of our venues reducing the number of spectators that will be allowed to attend. The protocols at this time are as follows:
- If your student is an athlete you will receive a link to sign up for entrance to events
- Each player is allowed up to 2 tickets for spectators 18+ years or older
- No students will be allowed to attend as spectators
- All spectators will have to maintain physical distancing for other families (8 feet)
- All spectators must wear a mask at all times
- No concession stands will be available. Spectators may bring water but no other food or drinks will be allowed.

Graduation in June 1, 2021
Save the Date! We do not know the details yet but we are planning.
Thanks to all who came to Chick-Fil-A last night to support the senior fundraiser. It was nice to see so many seniors. Many staff joined in the fun passing out Treat Bags and masks. Best part of the night was receiving a milkshake from one of our seniors. Made my day! We have such amazing students!
ASB is asking seniors to share their College Acceptance Reactions to Instagram and tag @lmhs.2021. Let's Celebrate our senior accomplishments.

AP Exams 2021!
Attention All AP Students!
All AP Students have been enrolled to take all AP Exams during Administration #2. Some assessments during this administration must be paper/pencil and will have to be taken on campus. We are currently working to create a plan for these on-campus test administrations. Some of the assessments will be taken digitally and can be taken at home or on campus. All students have been auto enrolled to take these digital exams at home, however, Mrs. McGillivary will be contacting each AP Teacher to see if any student signed up for digital at-home exam would like to request to test on campus.
Please stay tuned as more detailed information will be coming in the next week from each AP Teacher. You may also direct any specific questions or concerns to Mrs. McGillivary.
