Thank You, Lieutenant Gleason!

Always Remember. Never Forget.
May 20-26, 2018 marks the 44th annual National EMS Week celebrated in the United States. And so, Aquin High School was honored to welcome Lt. William Gleason, a 9/11 responder to the Aquin Auditorium on Tuesday, May 22. Lt. Gleason is the cousin of the Neubauer family (Colton-grade 12, Carly-grade 10, Camrin-grade 5). Excerpts of Lt. Gleason's presentation can be viewed on the YouTube link below. Please keep Lt. Gleason and all 9/11 responders and their families in your prayers. God bless them all for their heroic sacrifices in 2001 and in the days and years to come.
From The Journal Standard . . .
"Lt. William Gleason was awake for six straight days following the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, as he worked to rescue people from the rubble of the World Trade Center.
As he worked, Gleason, then a member of the New York City Fire Department, did not know he was exposing himself to toxins that would affect his life forever.
“The young ones — they have no idea how bad it really was,” Gleason said. “They also have no idea of the sacrifice and the honor. We put others before ourselves that day and we were willing to do whatever it took.”
