Dear Penngrove Families,

I promise my favorite topics are NOT the parking lot, dismissal procedures, COVID, and the many logistics that go into starting a new school year. Our days at 365 Adobe Road are 99% filled with magical moments like the ones you'll see below. Students engaged in learning, endless laughter, new friendships, teamwork, reading, and all the fun an elementary school campus can bring. And trust me, we have a LOT of fun! These are the moments that fuel us throughout the year. These are the moments that remind us why we, as #TeamPenn, show up each day to build relationships with your kids and help them become the best versions of themselves. We are truly having such a fantastic start to our school year and your children are restoring all the best parts of our profession for us, one day at a time.

I'd like to give a special shoutout to our TK and K community (which includes students, teachers and families), who are simply amazing us daily with their ability to begin this educational journey during a pandemic, and with such a high level of effort and success! I am so proud of you all, keep up the great work.

While the Olympics theme was such a fun way to kick off the year, our school-wide theme for 2021-22 is: SHINE BRIGHT. Prior to the school year starting, our staff spent time reflecting on what it means to shine bright within our own community, as well as, how we as educators can help highlight the many ways our students shine bright.

My hope is that as this year unfolds, we all consider the following questions:

  • What do I need personally in order to be my best self and shine bright?
  • What do I need from my family/friends to shine bright?
  • How can I help those around me shine bright?

Morning Drop Off Confusion?! What is Happening?!

It seems our morning drop offs have become a little wild west down in the parking lot so let's regroup, team! Remember our goal is to have students become independent and walk to class on their own whenever possible. Thank you to the many parents who are dropping their children at the door, and scurrying off campus. We appreciate you!

TK/K families (including older siblings) - you may get out of your cars at 7:50am and begin walking up the rainbow stairs. Teachers are NOT on duty until 7:55am so please note, your arrival window is 7:55 - 8:05am.

1st - 6th grade families - your teachers have limited quiet moments in the morning. There is no supervision, and teachers are not available to welcome students into their classrooms until 8am. This means no 1st - 6th grader (unless you have a TK/K sibling) should be on campus OR OUT OF THEIR CAR before 8am. Please do not drop your child off prior to 8am for any reason. Tina and team will try their best to have 1st - 6th grade families start unloading just before 8, but please stay in your cars until you have been signaled to get out. This was our routine for hybrid, and we need to return to it.

Placard Families - WE LOVE YOU!

Thank you SO SO SO very much to each family who has taken the time to make a dashboard placard to use during pick-up! These signs in your cars help us quickly call and load students which allows our traffic flow to keep moving! We appreciate you!

Each day this week, we have had a TON of 1st - 6th grade tardies! Please remember that students should be in class by 8:20am. We've been easing into our new routine and not counting tardies until 8:22am but next week, as soon as the bell rings at 8:20, if a student is not in his/her classroom, they will be considered tardy. Thanks so much for making any family adjustments as needed.


Penngrove Jog a thon 2018

Dear Penngrove Elementary Supporter,

We are so excited for the Penngrove Elementary School Jog-a-thon on September 10th! Our Jog-a-thon is the biggest fundraiser of the school year. This event is primarily responsible for funding a variety of student events and school projects. We are determined to make this event and the rest of the school year memorable for each of our 475 Penngrove Panthers - they deserve it!

With the funds raised from this year’s Jog-a-thon, the Penngrove PTA aims to support:

  • Fund the PE program

  • Fund the Garden program

  • Fun assemblies for all students

  • School programs such as mileage club, intramural sports, etc.

  • Individual Penngrove Staff funds for supplies, materials and general classroom support

  • School improvement projects such as murals, playground equipment and so much more!

What are the sponsorship levels?

Silver Tier Sponsor $250 - Advertisement on a banner that will be hung on the fence at the corner of Adobe and Old Redwood Highway until our next Jog-a-thon in fall of 2022.

Gold Tier Sponsor $500 - Company logo on Jog-a-thon t-shirt which all students and staff will wear at the event and for years to come. Advertisement on a banner that will be hung on the fence at the corner of Adobe and Old Redwood Highway until our next Jog-a-thon in the fall of 2022.

Platinum Tier Sponsor $1,000 - Central logo placement on Jog-a-thon t-shirt, advertisement on a banner that will be hung on the fence at the corner of Adobe and Old Redwood Highway until our next Jog-a-thon in fall of 2022, and an advertisement in the school yearbook.

All sponsors will be advertised through Penngrove Elementary social media pages and included in school-wide newsletters. Any Penngrove students affiliated with your business will be invited to a special event or receive a special recognition.

How do I sponsor?

To sponsor the event, send a check made payable to Friends of Penngrove PTA or FOPPTA and mail or drop it off to Penngrove Elementary School, PO Box 480, Penngrove, CA 94951. You can also use our PayPal link ( to send your contribution electronically. Company logos should be emailed to or uploaded on the Google form linked on page one.

Once your form and payment is received, a member of the Jog-a-thon committee will contact you to confirm receipt and to verify that your logo is correct. To ensure you receive the recognition you deserve, the deadline for sponsorships is Friday, August 13th.

Please note, the Friends of Penngrove PTA (FOPPTA) is a non-profit organization and our tax ID number is included on the form.

Welcome to #TeamPenn - Jamie Norman as one of our Student Advisors!

A mom of two boys (one former and one current panther) Jamie has been substitute teaching at Penngrove for the last 7 years, served as PTA President and Secretary and volunteers weekly in our classrooms. Outside of school she enjoys family wiffle ball and card games, backyard movie nights, reading, going to Giants games and anything that involves dancing. Jamie is overjoyed to be serving in a position that is all about supporting and loving our students.
