Fourth Grade Field Trip
This Friday, November 14, fourth grade will travel to Jefferson City to tour the Missouri Capitol. Students are allowed to bring backpacks and electronic devices, but the backpacks must stay on the bus for security reasons. Students also are not allowed to bring snacks; safe snacks will be provided by the teachers. Lunches must be brought in a paper bag and all lunch items must be disposable. Everything will be thrown away at the end of lunch time.
Fifth Grade Musical
Next Wednesday, November 19, is the fifth grade musical at 7:00 in the Castlio gymnasium. The title is Music, Movies & Mayhem. Attendees must have tickets. Children 3 years old and younger do not need a ticket if they sit on the lap of an adult. Students will bring tickets home within the next couple of days.

The book fair is coming soon. Our class will preview books on Monday, November 17. Buying days begin November 20 and end on November 25.

Saeger Band
Saeger Spartan Bands will be hosting their annual Instrument Selection Night on Thursday, November 20th at Saeger Middle School. Any 5th grade student who will be attending Saeger next year should attend! Each session will include an informational meeting about band for parents and students at the beginning, as well as a chance for students to try out the different instruments/mouthpieces. At this event, students will learn about the instrument choices available to Beginning Band students, and testers will help them find the instrument that is the best fit for them.

Bottom Line
Please be assured that I always have your child's best interest at heart. Pretend that you have eleven children. That may help give you a view of life from my perspective. So when that moment comes that you are tempted to question my decisions or motives in a given situation, stop and visualize your home with eleven children living there :-) Seriously, if you have questions at any time, please feel free to contact me.
The Seven Habits
We continue to focus on being proactive. I'm not sure how much progress we are making. Independent work and decision making are sometimes a challenge. Fifth grade is preparation time for middle school. Most students find that if they have followed my instructions closely during fifth grade, middle school is a breeze.
