Digital Transition Assessments

The amazing Karen Harrington has retyped several very useful transition assessments so we can all access them digitally. She makes copies for each of her students so that either she or they can type directly into the doc instead of writing. I've included them in a new folder in the sped shared drive.

Good Resource from Pat D'Alfonso: Reading website

This website/app that has thousands of online books for children between the ages of 4 and 12. The titles, from many popular publishers, are grouped by age bands as well as topics. There are many nonfiction texts that include biographies and science topics, as well as fun book ages about popular interests for kids. For younger students, there are audio books that will read the text to them.

The site is called Epic and it is free for educators. It will let you set up profiles for your students that will track their progress and preferences. I envision that this free resource can support your curriculum, as well as provide interesting texts for independent reading or literacy centers.
