We are ready, Are you ready?
Summer vacation is over and school starts on Monday, August 14th at 8:10 AM (TK/Late Kinder at 9:10). We had our TK/K Orientation today and we were elated to see our students on campus! It is important that you attend school events and have an open line of communication. Please, make sure to download the parent square app on your phone.
Here are some information about the first day:
- Students can start arriving as early as 7:40 AM. Teachers will be out in the front at 7:40 to welcome your children.
- TK - 2nd grade: Please send the Classroom Placement Letter with them.
- 3rd - 5th: Make sure to look up the teacher/room information after confirming the data on Aeries parent portal prior to Monday.
- Give your children a hug and trust us that they will have lots of fun.
- If you have young children, please make sure they know their first and last names. Simply practice with them by asking for their names.
- TK & late Kinder students start at 9:10 (8:40 for breakfast). Please, do not arrive earlier.

Las Positas BTSN - Thursday, August 17th
Welcome, Mrs. Kim, our new Assistant Principal~
Mrs. Kim is very excited to begin this new school year as the new Assistant Principal. She has been in education for 23 years and it has definitely flown by. She enjoyed working with students as a second and third grade classroom teacher as well as a Categorical Resource Teacher coordinating schoolwide intervention programs. Most recently, she supported the launch of new district programs including Dual Immersion, Universal TK, and International Baccalaureate. She has been married to her husband, Rick, for 18 years and they love spending time with their two dogs, eight nieces and nephews, and playing a round of golf on the weekends.
She wanted to share that, "It is a privilege to be a part of the Las Positas family, and I look forward to partnering with you in your child's education. Here's to a great new year!"

More Important Information about Drop Off/Pick Up
Drop Off/Loading Zone:
- Do not come earlier than 7:40AM. Let's keep our children safe by not arriving before the student supervisors.
- Please allow your children to get out of the car, once they are in any part of the loading zone. They do not need to wait for anyone to open the door for them. Younger children can wait until they get closer to the front of the school.
- Have your child ready by making sure that they have everything ready to exit on the right side. (Back pack should not be in the trunk)
- Parents, Stay in your car; let's teach our children to be independent.
Pick Up:(Please, remain in your cars.)
Drive thru the valet line & display the name paper, (will be provided first week).
Be Patient, Smile, & wave
Las Positas has legal traffic parameters during school hours. Please take a look at this map and only drive in from the Sandlewood Ave. side. Do not arrive earlier than 10 minutes and do not block traffic.
First few weeks of school will take longer than usual. Once everyone gets into the pattern of things, it will get better. Please, model being patient and kind.
Walkers
- We encourage 3rd - 5th grade families (w/o little siblings) to join the walker line and meet them up by the stop sign (Sandlewood/Almondwood). Staff members will walk them up and supervise them.
Siblings at Imperial Middle School (IMS):
We have a table where students with siblings at IMS will be waiting.
If the the Las Positas student is walking home, they must have a Walking Home with Older Sibling Permission Form, click here.
