FAMILY MATH FUN IN FEBRUARY
Our amazing Coppell ISD District MATH Coordinator, Mary Kemper, has created a family MATH FUN CALENDAR for February. Have fun with our math challenges.
WHAT WE ARE LEARNING
READING & WRITING
Reading this week, we continued our read-aloud, My Side of the Mountain. Learners are enjoying learning about surviving in the wilderness. We also completed our reading Argument and Advocacy unit. Learners did an amazing job debating their research topic.
Math
In Math, we began a new unit on algebraic equations and expression. We worked on a number sort to identify expressions written in as a statement and in breakouts learner enjoyed completing a GIZMO activity as a group.
SCIENCE
In Science, we continued our Earth Science Unit. This week we continued our study on rapid changes in the earth's surface.
SOCIAL STUDIES
In Social Studies this week, we began to continue our unit on the Civil War. Learners studied the reconstruction period after the war.
All elementary learners have access to free breakfast and lunch through the remainder of this school year.
Important Information
Student Zoom Sign In Update: Please make sure that learners log into ZOOM with their g.coppellisd.com accounts starting on Monday, August 31st. If you would like more information, please view this website.
Schoology: As we continue with virtual learning, Schoology is a very important tool during this time. We know some of our learners are using the app, but it is best for them to use the web-based version: https://schoology.coppellisd.com/
Learners need to make sure they are completing and submitting all of their work for each course since that is how we are taking attendance. In addition, although online learning is taking place at home, learners should be starting and finishing their work on their own as they would in-person at school.
Lee Specials Quarterly Newsletter: Our specials team puts out a newsletter each week. Check it out!
Box Tops: Did you know you can SCAN Box Tops and earn money for our school with items you already purchase for your home? Learn more about this quick and easy way to help our school.
