New Shout Outs
- Shout out to Lynne Schaefer R.N. for being such an amazing nurse, and taking such great care of our Millburn students. Congratulations to Lynne for completing the classes and getting certified to do Hearing and Vision testing!! We are so lucky to have you!!!
- MES Staff: Every day-rain, sleet, wind, snow, hot, cold, or in-between… since the beginning of the school year whenever we arrive at parent pick up it’s been smooth. We’re greeted with kindness, smiles, contagious sparkling energy from all that volunteer keeping the ins and outs for us all running smoothly! Thank you for your diligence and positive spirits! Keep shining like the radiant beacons you all are!
Valentine's Day Celebrations
Ecology Club
This club is intended for 3rd - 5th grades ONLY due to activities involving gardening tools, skills and reading ability.
Ecology and Garden Club Spring Session
Together we will explore gardening, recycling methods and habits, and community care. Spring is Earth Day and planting the garden. We will get ready for both!
Activities include: creating Millburn Logo napkins for classmate lunches, printing and sharing recycling posters for around the school, hosting Earth Day events, start seedlings in the lab for the garden, open the garden in the spring, learn about bees, make homemade paper, paint clay pots to take home our baby house plants, and share the skills of gardening.
This club meets on Fridays from 2:30-3:45pm on the following dates:
March 4, 11, 18, 25
April 8, 15, 22, 29
May 6, 13
Student Council Food Drive
Some food donations for the food pantry are:
non-perishable foods:
easy meal prep
Hamburger Helper
Chef Boyardee
Beef Stew
boxed skillet dinners
Spahettio's
Baked beans
canned goods etc.
non-food goods needed are:
paper towels
laundry detergent
The Student Council will also be collecting pop tabs from the top of soda/pop cans. We will have containers by the entry doors starting Feb. 14th to drop off your tabs. This would be a great way to help out the Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House is a great place for families to be close to their children in the hospital. Thank you for considering collecting and donating your pop tabs to help others.
Blood Drive
The Millburn Federation of Teachers is teaming up with Millburn EPIC and the Millburn Professional and School Related Personnel to host a blood donation drive.
We are anticipating an early-mid April date for the blood drive.
But even before we have a date firmly nailed down, we are looking for volunteers to commit to donating so that Vitalant can best gauge the resources they will need.
Please sign up on the attached form. Forward this email to friends, family members, and neighbors.
Let's have a huge turnout for this event and support the need for blood donations in our community.
More information, including the finalized date, will be forthcoming. In the meantime, if you have any immediate questions, feel free to contact me at srobinson@millburn24.net.
Thank you on behalf of the Millburn Federation of Teachers, Millburn EPIC and the Millburn Professional and School Related Personnel.
