What Does Your Decision Mean?
- Accepted - You know what this means. Congratulations!
- Defer - No decision has been made. Usually the college wants to see additional information - either grades or test scores before they make a final decision. Be sure to send them the requested update by the deadline provided.
- Deny - You know what this means. On to plan b.
- Offer Acceptance Alt. Major (Purdue) - This is a yes but not in the major you initially requested.
- Offer Conditional Admit - Consider this a maybe. It will be a yes if you complete the requirements listed in your letter.
- Waitlisted - If space becomes available, you will be offered a spot.

How will you pay for college?
FAFSA is Key!
The State of Indiana's deadline for FAFSA submission is March 10 but the earlier you complete your FAFSA the better. Some colleges have earlier deadlines so be sure to check with the financial aid office of the college(s) you are attending or considering. The following video will take you through the process of filing your FAFSA.

Community Scholarships
Here are some tips to help you submit a winning application.
- Read and follow all instructions.
- Submit a clean and neat application.
- Submit a well-composed essay that makes a positive impression.
- Be aware of and meet all deadlines.
- Mail applications to the proper address with the proper postage affixed.
- Give your application materials a final review.
- Seek assistance if you need it.
How to find state and national opportunities
It would be impossible for us to notify you of every scholarship opportunity. We post most opportunities that we know of but you should do your own research to find even more opportunities. These websites and resources are a great place to start.

National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences
Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship
This application is due February 9. Delta Sigma Theta is offering a $1,000 to African American female high school seniors in the Indianapolis area. Scholarships will be awarded based upon academic achievement, character, community service activities, extra-curricular activities, and financial need.
