You should be receiving a set up email from PBIS Rewards. PBIS Rewards is a Software-as-a-Service solution that provides an automated school wide PBIS management system based on school character traits (they’re displayed on posters around the school Respect, Responsibility & Safety).
With PBIS Rewards teachers will have access to a system in which they can reward good behavior, said points can be saved and used to cash in at the PBIS store. We will send out dates and steps when students will be able to use their points. It’s as easy as that! At HSA-Katy we want to reward good behavior as much as possible while also discouraging breaks in expectations. Check out the video below for more information!
We strive for the wellbeing and protection of all our students, to continue with that consistency we will be conducting a lock down drill in the first weeks of October. A lockdown drill consists of locking doors, turning off the lights, blocking entrances and remaining in the classroom quietly. Per the Emergency Guidelines:
Lock, Lights, Out of Sight
Lockdown is called when there is a threat or hazard inside the school building. Lockdown uses classroom and school security actions to protect students and staff from threat.
- Move away from sight
- Maintain silence
The following are examples of when a Lockdown might be called:
- Dangerous animal within school building
- Angry or violent parent or student
- Active Shooter
We urge all parents to go over the guidelines and procedures of the drill to ensure that they go as smooth as possible. Following the guidelines can make all the difference. Thank you for your ongoing help, support and cooperation.
