Excellence – The Prevailing Attitude
The mission of LEISD and Little Elm High School is to Engage, Equip, and Empower each student to realize their full potential in a culture founded on the highest qualities of character – Excellence, Integrity, Respect, and Compassion. Excellence does not happen by accident. Teachers and students work hard to create habits that turn into an attitude that expects the best. This past week we have celebrated hundreds of students who have cultivated this attitude of excellence. On Thursday, May 3rd the LEHS Underclassmen Awards Program recognized students for their diligence and effort to be best they can be. On Wednesday, May 9th, the LEHS Chapter of National Honor Society conducted the induction of the 2018-2019 members. This event was another example of LEHS students striving for excellence and achieving great things in the four pillars of NHS – Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.
Congratulations to all of these young ladies and young men! They are just the latest example of all of the great things happening at LEHS this year. Please encourage and congratulate these Lobos when you see them and tell them to keep up the great work! In the words of Colin Powell, “If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the habit in little matters. Excellence is not an exception, it is a prevailing attitude.”

You can help us in this area by keeping all deliveries and appointments to a minimum during this time. Thanks in advance for your understanding!
LEgendary Yearbook signing party!
As the school year comes to a conclusion, many students are wondering how they can have a memento of the year. The answer is simple: get a yearbook.
Next week the 2017-2018 LEgendary Yearbooks will be here for distribution. This also means the first, LEHS 2018 yearbook signing party.
LE’s yearbooks will be here ready for distribution on Wednesday, May 16. The LEHS Yearbook Staff has decided to throw a signing party for everyone to get together and get yearbooks signed by friends. Come down to the cafeteria and get your yearbook and have fun while doing it! The Yearbook Signing Party will be from 3:15 - 4:15 p.m. There will be karaoke, photo ops, and yearbooks!
This signing party is for those students who purchased a yearbook during the school year. If you are planning to attend the signing party, make sure you have either a receipt for proof of purchase, an id card, or driver’s license. You cannot receive your yearbook unless you can proof you purchased it.
There will be a small limited number of yearbooks for sale at the event but this is first come first serve.
This is the first time the yearbook staff is having a kick-off party to distribute yearbooks. Due to AP testing that week, the idea of having an event after school where students and staff can get yearbooks was decided.
The staff is proud to present this yearbook to the school and have made some great memories from doing so. “I like that it is a small class so we got to know each other better. I like that we took photos outside of school so we could see each other in a “normal” situation too.” -Johanna Kriegesmann
Starting out, the group had a rough start working on this publication because of lack of communication and experience. However, once the students got the hang of covering events and asking questions up, a whole lot of energy came bursting from the group.
“I like how we’re all friends and we get along and work together. Everyone is dedicated, hard working, and willing to do more than their part.” -Alison Baker
Each were able to lend a helping hand no matter what the problem was. “
I’m glad I came to yearbook it’s been a learning and great experience for me.” -Skyla Kelly
“I for one have had an amazing year with this group of people. Working with this group has been the highlight of my year. Never could I have asked for a greater group of creative minds. I’m going to miss those of you who graduate and will very much remember those crazy moments we all shared together. We worked really hard to make this yearbook come to life.” -Amy Hazlewood
For more information concerning yearbook, speak to Mrs.White at room 1229.
