Eileen and Ken will be back this Spring to teach their popular intermediate Guitar class. This class assumes that students know the basic chords, and will focus on popular classic rock songs. The focus will be on song arrangements with different intermediate options that Eileen and Ken will demonstrate and review. Putting the parts together, the class will perform these songs with a mix of old and new chords, guitar tricks and strum patterns.
If you know the basic chords and have not played in a while, this will get you playing again. Or if you just want to move the needle from where you are, this class is for you. So dust off those rusty strings or buy a new guitar, tune it up and plan on attending this class!

Chair Caning and Recovering
March 10 - April 28, 2020

Crossroads South Middle School located at 195 Major Road, Monmouth Jct. Use rear entrance to Room F104.
Give your old chairs a new look! Learn the traditional methods of seat weaving including caning, rush or splint. Repair and tighten-up chairs. Or, you can recover your dining room and kitchen chairs with new fabric or vinyl. So bring your chair, rocker, bench or stool to the first class and Ted Wyraniec, expert chair caner, will help you determine material requirements. No special tools are needed.
Pay materials fee of approx. $20 in cash at class.
Watercolor Painting - Basics and Beyond - All Levels

Perfect for beginning and experienced watercolor students. You will learn how to start, develop, and successfully finish paintings achieving strong values and simplified shapes. Students with a basic understanding of watercolor will learn more advanced techniques as they continue to develop their skills. Your instructor will work with you at your level to provide individual guidance as you develop
your skills and personal style. You can choose to join the group lesson, or work independently on your own project.
Joanne Amantea (www.joanneamantea.com) is a signature member of the Garden State Watercolor Society. A former textile designer in NYC, Joanne’s work has been included in numerous regional juried
and invitational group exhibitions. Continued watercolor studied have included instruction from
master watercolorists, Charles Reid, Pat Dews, and Maxine Masterfield.

Learn the ABCD’s of Medicare. You will become familiar with the basic essentials of Medicare and how to select a Medicare Plan for your specific needs. This workshop will include information about Medigap/Supplemental, Medicare Advantage Plans and Part D/RX plans. The presenter,Gregg Astel, will review the four parts of Medicare: Part A, Part B, Part C and Part D.
This workshop is ideal for those nearing age 65, or those who are retiring sometime after 65, and also very informative for the adult children of Medicare recipients or parents.

Mr. Astel has more than 15 years experience in the Medicare Market. He has been an Adjunct Professor of Medicare at Raritan Valley Community College and has had speaking engagements talking to future retirees at many large companies.

Mindfulness II for Well Being

Mindfulness for Well Being is a secular course that teaches the principles of Mindfulness. Formal and informal experiential practices will be taught to empower people to reduce their stress and increase well-being. Each session will include a theme, breath work and mindfulness practices including sitting, body scan and gentle mindful movement. Topics such as the physiology of stress and the neuroscience of mindfulness will be included. This course is designed for people with little or no meditation experience.
Your instructor, Stephanie D'Angelo, is an innovative Mindfulness Meditation, Yoga and EFTMP facilitator that uses traditional and neuro-scientific research based principles to empower people to decrease stress in real time and increase their overall well-being. Her mind-body training includes over twelve hundred hours of yoga, meditation, anatomy, physiology, Eden Energy Medicine and Energy Psychology. In 2014, she pioneered and created a pilot Stress Reduction and Mindfulness Program for a major financial institution that received 96% positive results, and has taught over 500 participants there and the program continues to grow. She has taught her program in other organizations as well.
