FMHS Supporting the Community
Our FMHS students packed 50 shoe boxes for children that will receive only these boxes for Christmas! This event was coordinated by Jackets for Jesus. It was amazing to see the excitement on their faces as our students packed these boxes for children in need! Pictures of our packing are shared below.

FMHS Marching Band Competes in Utah
After an awesome parade performance and experience at Disneyland on Nov. 2, the Fort Mill HS Band traveled from Anaheim to St. George (UT) for the Bands of America (BOA) Regional Championship at Utah Tech on Nov. 4. 32 bands from 6 states competed at the event. BOA divides bands into 4 classes (1A-4A) based on school enrollment, grades 10-12. Fort Mill competed in Class 3A.
Fort Mill won the awards for Best Music and Best Visual in Class 3A + won the Class 3A Championship:
Class AAA
1st – Fort Mill H.S., SC
2nd – Maple Mountain H.S., UT
3rd – Brighton H.S., UT
Outstanding Music Performance – Fort Mill H.S., SC
Outstanding Visual Performance – Fort Mill H.S., SC
Outstanding General Effect – Maple Mountain H.S., UT
This is Fort Mill's 11th BOA Regional Class Championship and first one since 2019. The band has earned BOA Class Championships 5 times in Tennessee, 3 times in Georgia, 2 times in Ohio, and now 1 time in Utah. BOA sponsored 28 regional championships from coast to coast this fall.

FMHS Chorus Presents 9th Annual Cabaret
Our 9th Annual Cabaret will be held in the FMHS Auditorium on Thursday, Nov. 16th at 7 PM. Singers, Dancers, Color Guard, Faculty, and 4 Year Olds will be presenting a night of song through the decades. Tickets available on Go Fan.

Buzz has been nominated in three award categories this year.
Award 1: Greatest Community Impact at the High School level for his work with Hugaroo, Inc. and the inaugural Teddy Bear Toss.
Award 2: Best In-Game Routine or Skit at the High School level for doing push-ups at football games with the UDP (featured in the video submission).
Award 3: Best Video Short at the High School level for the transition to the new costume.

FMHS Graduation and Senior Cap/Gown Orders
Fort Mill High School graduation will be held on June 1, 2024 at Winthrop Coliseum. The ceremony will begin at 2:00 PM.
Jostens hosted a meeting on Monday, 10/23, during FLEX for seniors. During this meeting, the process for ordering cap and gowns for graduation, as well as how to order graduation announcements was discussed.
If your senior was unable to attend the meeting, an information sheet if available in the main office concerning Cap and Gown orders.
The fall orders for Cap, Gown, and announcements are due by November 24th. You can access the ordering information on Jostens.com
FLEX
FLEX is a designated time during the instructional day for students to meet with their teachers for extra help or to make up missed assignments. FLEX will begin after the completion of 4th block. Beginning Wednesday, August 23rd, FMHS will run "choice FLEX" for students. The following are a couple reminders with the start of FLEX:
- If a student is not assigned a mandatory FLEX, they can leave campus at the end of 4th block, 3:00 PM, and need to be off campus by 3:10 (Car Rider or Student Driver)
- All students will use Smart Pass Scheduler to signify which teacher they will be in FLEX with or if they will be off campus (No Dismissal Note needed)
- Students received this procedure during extended 4th block on Monday and Tuesday
- FMHS Bus Transportation will run at the end of the instructional day at 3:40
- FMHS will begin assigning mandatory FLEX beginning the week of 8/28
- Students with a grade of a D or below in any class will be assigned mandatory FLEX on a week by week basis until the grade(s) improve to a C or above
