Pivot to Online Learning
Way to go everybody! We are halfway through our two week pivot. You are doing a great job supporting the kids through this change. We know the kids miss being at school and we miss having them here. In order for us to stay in school we all have to do our part following the health and safety guidelines both in and out of school.
If anyone in your household is being tested, please let us know. We know and understand that this may be a difficult time for families and we are here to help. Please reach out to us if your family needs support or assistance.
We look forward to our return to in person learning on the 23rd. We are online again this week and then we resume the 4 day in person and Friday virtual schedule. I've had many families reach out to me regarding changing the online schedules, we will do this if we return. to online full time. For this two week pivot, we will maintain the current schedule. Should the need arise for us to return to online full time, we would then go to a virtual schedule that would allow one lunch/break time for all students K-5 at the same time. We appreciate your understanding. If you need help finding a common time for your children to eat and play together, please email me and I will find times that fit your children's schedules. I'm happy to help and just a phone call or email away.
Please reach out if you have any questions, concerns, ideas, or if we can provide support in any way. Thank you for your partnership in keeping the Robinson community safe.

STEAMFest Information
Kirkwood’s annual STEAMFest will happen this year, but protocol and timing are very different. This is due to Kirkwood adhering to The Academy of Science St. Louis Science Fair changes for 2021.
Our website has been updated with new information, new instructions, new forms, new calendar, and new deadlines that are much earlier than in years past. You can get started NOW!
Due to the new, shorter deadlines, no time extensions will be made for submitting materials this year. The application has been replaced with a Research Plan Form. Students can complete and submit that for pre-approval by January 13, 2021. The sooner it's submitted, the sooner it's approved.
Once students have received their approval, they can begin work on their virtual project and logbook. When completed, materials will be submitted no later than February 24, 2021.
On March 10, 2021, Kirkwood will share results via emails to students, on the district website, with all schools, and through social media. Qualifying projects will advance to the annual Academy of Science St. Louis Science Fair for judging.
