Kellye Hardesty - Paraprofessional
Hello Ridgeway families! I'm Kellye Hardesty and I am a paraprofessional. I help kids all day long to be successful at school! Outside of school, I love to cook, garden, and hang out with my grandkids!
Greta Roettgen - Speech Language Pathologist
Amanda White - Learning Specialist
My name is Amanda White. This is my first year as the Learning Specialist for Ridgeway. I have worked in a variety of positions for past districts, including high school special education, 5th grade teacher, 3rd-4th grade co-teacher, 2nd grade teacher, assistant principal, and principal. I am happy to be back with Columbia Public Schools this year, and blessed to work in the enriching environment that Ridgway provides!
I am married and have two sons at home. Drake is 12 and attends Gentry Middle School, participating in Band, Cross Country and Basketball as a 7th grader. Chase is 10 and is a 4th grader at Mill Creek Elementary. We stay busy attending sporting events, hiking, biking, cooking, playing board games, and watching movies.
I look forward to getting to know more Ridgeway students and families!

Unit News
Unit A
Unit B
Unit B students enjoyed their Missouri Symphony Orchestra field trip this week! Ask your child what they learned about the different instruments that make up an orchestra.
Unit C
Specialist News
From Music Room
Wow! It’s hard to believe that we’re already in the second half of November! What a wonderful start to the year we’ve had!
Unit A is working super hard and is just so much fun to teach every day. They’ve practiced their four voices, in-tune singing, steady beat, and fast and slow! We are now working on more comparatives including loud and soft (this would be a great time to talk about lullabies!) and we’ll get into jerky/smooth before winter break. I have loved singing, playing, and dancing with Unit A and have seen so much growth in our time together.
Unit B are rockstars! From singing and dancing to creating their own games they give music 100% each time! I have had so much fun creating ostinatos for our song “We are Dancing in the Forest” with them. Unit B has also worked hard to learn the instruments of the orchestra through the classical song story: “Peter and the Wolf”. I am so excited that they had the opportunity to attend the orchestra performance this week. Ask your Unit B student about the different “Families” of the orchestra!
Unit C have become really amazing musicians! I love being able to challenge them with higher-level things. Right now they are rising to the challenge of internal hearing, meaning they can hear and produce a song in their head without actually singing it! This has led to some very enjoyable games and moments in our time together. As always I am so impressed with their singing and so proud of their sound. I can’t wait to transfer our knowledge to instruments in the coming weeks.
I hope you all have a wonderful end to the Autumn season and share your gratitudes. I myself, am so grateful for the Ridgeway Family.
Sing-Cerely,
Ms. Meeds
