HSA-Euless student is named in the 2016 National Merit Scholorship program
The principal of Harmony Science Academy- Euless, is pleased to announce that Sharon Park has been named a Commended Student in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, was presented to this scholastically talented senior.
About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2016 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2016 competition by taking the 2014 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). Good luck to our current juniors on their upcoming 2015 PSAT/NMSQT on October 14th.
Juniors and Seniors at a College Fair
The junior and senior classes visited a college fair where they gained valuable information about different colleges and universities across the country. College fairs are an excellent opportunity for students to do some in-person research. Students will get immediate feedback to questions and the schools will start “to come alive” for them as they talk with the admission and/or alumni reps at each booth.
The PSAT test will be administered on Wednesday, October 14th to all 8th and 9th grade students.
The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered on Wednesday, October 14th to all 10th and 11th grade students.

MATHCOUNTSprovides preparation and competition materials and, with the leadership of the National Society of Professional Engineers, hosts more than 500 Chapter Competitions, 56 State Competitions and the National Competition each year. Successful students may win hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships each year at the local, state and national levels.
NURSES CORNER
As we all know summer is coming to an end, and with that being said flu season is right around the corner. The following are important tips that can help us stay healthy:
Hand Washing
· Before, during, and after preparing food
· Before eating food
· Before and after caring for someone who is sick
· After using the toilet
· After changing diapers or cleaning up a child who has used the toilet
· After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing
· After touching an animal, or animal waste
· After touching garbage
Handwashing is easy to do and it's one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of many types of infection and illness
Cover your mouth and nose
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. It may prevent those around you from getting sick
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth
Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.
WORKING TOGETHER WE CAN TRY AND KEEP EACH OTHER HEALTHY
