Creating our holiday cards to mail for the Holiday Card Exchange!
Students are invited to take a picture or bring in any item that goes along with our current vocabulary words we are studying. We will add them to the chart we have started to help learn as much as we can about these words! Thanks for your help with this!
Learning about non fiction text features!

November Student of the Month
Congratulations to Gary and Kinsey for showing safety during the month of November! This month we will be focusing on the trait of self-control! Self-control can be difficult for students during the holidays. Please encourage your child to do their best every day!
Gingerbread House Decorating
We will be decorating gingerbread houses on Thursday, December 18th from 11:00 to 12:00. A permission form and ingredient list will be sent home on Monday. Please return the permission form by Friday, December 12th. Students will not be able to participate without a permission form. Don't forget that all parents are invited to attend! Please indicate on the permission form if you will be attending. We hope you will be able to join us for this fun event!
Icing for Gingerbread Houses
Each student will need their own container of white icing (any brand) to decorate their gingerbread house. You may send it in as you purchase it. Please write your child's name on the container. Thank you!
A Message from the Cafeteria!
We are starting a new program in the cafeteria for the United Methodist Food Pantry. All unopened food items that the students do not want to eat will be placed in a food box. Someone from the UMFP will be by once a week to to pick up any foods we have to donate. Please contact Mrs. Haskett in the cafeteria with any questions.
Hour of Code
Next Wednesday, we will be participating in 'Hour of Code'! We are Learning...
Reading: We are continuing to study nonfiction texts. We will be focusing on using the features of nonfiction texts to help us learn more. We will practice using the table of contents, glossary, photographs, and captions as we read!
Math: We will complete our topic on subtracting double digit numbers using mental math and spend the remaining time reviewing skills learned so far this year!
Writing: We will continue our author mentor study of Kevin Henkes as we write personal narratives.
Social Studies: We will continue our study on economics. Students will describe how people in a community use productive resources, create a variety of businesses and industries, specialize in different types of jobs, and depend on each other to supply goods and services.
