McTeacher Night
McTeacher Night is Wednesday, January 22nd from 5-7 pm at the McDonald’s on 99th Street. Come meet your teachers and your friends and help our school raise money!
Lost and Found Donated January 17th
Our Lost and Found is all full again, so we will be bagging up all items on January 10th and then donating anything not picked up on January 17th. Please come look for any of your student’s lost items! And please mark your child’s coats, etc. with their first name and last initial, so when an item is found, we can get it back to its owner.
3rd Grade Families Read and Succeed!
You are invited to the 3rd Grade Families Read and Succeed Night on Wednesday, January 29th in the Cafeteria & Gym from 5:15 -6:30 pm.
Come at 5:15 pm to eat pizza! The presentation begins promptly at 5:30.
- Learn how to help your student with reading at home.
- Receive your 3rd grader’s i-Ready literacy report and learn how to understand their reading level.
- Win a Winco gift card!
- Take home a free book in English or Spanish!
- Student work will be on display.
Presentation stations for you and your 3rd grader to participate in:
- Mrs. Johns- Come play a Vocabulary Bingo!
- Mrs. Geloff & Mr. Griffith- Read, Cover, Remember, Retell: Teach your child how to summarize. This is a great strategy that you can do anywhere, all you need is a book!
- Mrs. Osborn- Eng./Spanish Paper Foldables: A fun way to show & tell comprehension skills.
- Mrs. Menéndez- Digging Deep: Research Tips for Culture Study
- Mrs. Wallers- Make & Take a Multisyllabic Memory Game!
- Mrs. Odhiambo– Choose a free book in English or Spanish!

MESA – 5th Grade After School Program
MESA (Math, Engineering, Science, Achievement) is a free after school program where 5th grade students can learn how to solve everyday problems using engineering skills. Fifth grade students can get a program application from Ms. Marissa in the FCRC and must turn them in by February 3rd. Fifteen (15) students will be accepted and they will be contacted. Those accepted will get afterschool snacks, challenges, supplies and fun! The program starts Monday, February 10th.
