PSAT
Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors:
Prepare for your exam by getting a full nights rest and eating a healthy breakfast.

To be prepared for all sessions, you are encouraged to bring the following with you on October 30th:
Student ID
Laptop or tablet. There will be chromebooks in workshops requiring computers to complete applications or essays.
Social Security Number - required to complete many college related applications
Driver’s License Number
List of or access to a list of schools you are applying to
Usernames and passwords for applications that you already started
If you are participating in the FAFSA Workshop:
- a copy of the student’s 2018 tax records (not your parent’s) if you worked and you or your parents completed 2018 taxes
- FAFSA account username and password
- FSA ID # if you already created one
English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)
GOHS would like to invite you to participate in our second committee meeting, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 7th at 5 pm in the GOHS Library.
The English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) is to build the capacity of parents and guardians to assist in the education of their student. Agenda will include:

RACC / WUE Mini College Fair
Do you have questions about finding the perfect college and how to pay for it? We have the event for you! Join us on Tuesday, November 12th at 6:00pm in the GOHS PAC for a college fair with over 20 college representatives. All grade levels and all academic levels are invited!

CSULB Leadership Conference & College Tour
GOHS AVID is sponsoring a great opportunity to tour Long Beach State University and experience both a leadership conference & a college level basketball game on Saturday DECEMBER 7, 2019.
Only 50 spots available!
Cost for transportation is $25
Interested students will need to return a signed permission slip and check payable to GOALS AVID to Mrs. Andrade in room 601 to be added to the trip list.

UCSD COLLEGE TOUR
GOHS AVID is sponsoring a campus tour of UCSD on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 19TH, 2019.The tour includes campus tour, enrollment and housing information.
There are only 50 spots available for this trip!
Cost for transportation is $20.

ATHLETICS & ACTIVITIES
ATHLETICS
- @ 7:00 p.m. will be our last regular season Varsity Home Football game vs Vista Murrieta, come and celebrate our seniors who will be honored at the game.
- As we wind down the Fall season we want to congratulate all of our athletes on a job well done! Several teams are moving on to CIF play already.
- Congratulations to our Girls Golf Team - Southwest League Champions!
- Athletics will be hosting the NLI Signing Ceremony in the PAC on November 13th. If you are a college bound athlete signing a letter of intent with a college of your respective school, please submit your name to the athletic office as soon as possible. Thank you
- Remember that all athletes must be cleared through AthleticClearance.com in order to participate.
ACTIVITIES
- Battle of the First Periods! Canned Food Drive from October 21st - November 8th. Bring items to your first period class for points. Prizes go out to the most points.
- Great Oak Theatre company Presents LaughPack’s Halloween Improv Show - Today @ 3:30 - $5.00 General admission $4 Students/Military - It’s located in the Performing Arts Center Come on over to the PAC for some laughs!

Great Oak High School PTSA is participating in the national art scholarship program known as Reflections. The Reflections scholarship art program inspires student’s creativity by using their artistic vision to create original pieces of art inspired by a selected theme. This years Reflections theme is “Look Within”.
- Students may submit in categories of dance, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts. If you are interested please email greatoakhighschoolptsa@gmail.com.
- This is a great scholarship opportunity!!Entries are due this coming Monday, October 28th in room 709 from 8:30 A.M. – 2:30 P.M. however extensions may be granted please email the GOHS PTSA at greatoakhighschoolptsa@gmail.com.
