Greetings PLA Families,

We are exactly one month from returning to school and welcoming our scholars back from summer break!

I wanted to provide you all with some important information and dates as we progress through the next month.

School opens for the first day with scholars on Thursday, August 18th. Doors will open at 7:20 for scholars. Dismissal is at 2:20. If you are one of our families returning to our school, no action is necessary as you are already registered. If you are a new family, and have already registered, no additional action is necessary prior to the first day either. However, we may still need copies of important documents from you to complete your registration. If you are unsure if these documents are needed, please reach out to us at pla93@phalenacademies.org and I will put you in contact with our office manager to confirm. If you know of someone in our boundary that needs to register, please encourage them to do so as soon as possible. We are trying to avoid long lines, delays, and multiple registrations on the first day. If you have any questions, please use the email listed above to reach out to us so that we can assist you.

Our school is in the process of renovating the HVAC system. If you have driven by the school and seen all of the construction equipment on the grounds, this is what they are doing. Each classroom will be updated with a new cooling/heating system to help keep scholars comfortable during the school day.

Mark you calendars for our Back-to-School Ice Cream Social on Tuesday, August 16 from 5:00-7:00. All family members are welcome! This is a great time to receive your classroom assignment and meet your scholar's teacher. Be on the lookout for additional information coming soon.

Additionally, our school's Open House will be taking place on Tuesday, September 6 from 5:00-7:00. This is a great time to tour the building and receive information from your scholar's teacher.

Information about school supplies, uniforms, and our school's calendar have been listed below for your convenience.

Finally, there is information about Scouts and PLA University in this flyer. Scouts is open to all of our scholars from KDG-5th grade. PLA University is our adult career training program. It is open to ALL family members of our PLA scholars. If you or someone you know is interested in a new career or furthering their education, please reach out to us.

Information about transportation and the "First View" app has been provided in a PDF document below. You can use this app to track your scholar's bus during their morning and afternoon ride.

Enjoy the rest of your summer and please don't hesitate to reach out to us with any questions!

Sincerely,

Mr. Hendricks

Principal-PLA@93
