Hello Families!
LEARN
Check out this easy to do at home activity from the website, Frugal Fun For Boys and Girls. Gather up cars, a cardboard box, and either some small stickers or cut paper into small squares. Write the letters of your child's name, the alphabet, or letters you want to practice on the stickers or squares and attach to the cars with a small piece of tape. Open one side of the cardboard box and write the same letters on a slightly bigger piece of paper taped to "parking spaces" for each car. Draw lines in the box to help mark the parking spaces.
Not enough cars at home? Use other small toy figurines - dinosaurs, zoo animals, etc.
Encourage your child to help decorate the box. Challenge older children with bigger words. Use rhyming words like; star, car, far, etc. This can help your child identify the beginning sounds of words, while leaving the remainder of the word in place.

100 Race-Conscious Things You Can Say To Your Child To Advance Racial Justice
Families please remember to keep talking to your children, encourage conversations and questions. These moments help children establish their values, build empathy, and develop a sensitivity towards all peers.
Books are a wonderful way to support these conversations. Linked is another article, 'Teaching Kids About Racism, 5 Things You Can Do Today'. In the article you will find a list of children's books that support diversity.
