What are Auroras?

Auroras are beautiful light shows in the atmosphere. They are caused by a powerful electrical discharge in the sky.

Where do they usually occur?

Auroras usually occur in Central Alaska, Canada, and Greenland. They can also be seen in northern Scandinavia and Russia

Does It Hurt or Help?

Auroras have many risk such as disrupting radio communications, damaging satellites, and disrupting power stations and power lines which can result in power outages. They can also create a threat to astronauts in outer space. However, there are no known health risks of auroras.

How do people use it?

Although there are no known uses of auroras themselves, they can symbolize a warning of an oncoming storm
